Arsenal

Team For Sunday

Good morning children of the revolution.

I can feel it in my water. Either we are definitely going to do some serious damage to the Woolwich Wanders or it’s a urinary infection. Here is my selection and as ever the sole purpose of this is to solicit yours.

Is Friedel better than than Gomes? Who knows. What we do know is that Brad doesn’t appear to be a broken man. If Heurelho was a toy, he’d be a jigsaw puzzle.

The dear boy got himself into a bit of a jiggins last week at Wigan and I am convinced he’ll have filed that under ‘Not again thank you’ and will be ready to rock.

Media darlings r Us. He had a medical yesterday and if you are blessed with  the hearing of a bat you might just hear the sound of hundreds of thousands of fingers crossing.

Next to King like all mortal men he takes on extra extra powers, like Mario running into a mushroom like on that computer game I had on my Game Boy.

It was a toss up between Charlie and Rose. My heart says Rose, but my head says Charlie will complete a defense that says, ‘Not tonight Josephine.’ Which may strike a chord with all their French players.

Pathe News Bloke himself. It will be a close run thing between him and Bale as to who will draw the worst fouls from the dirty rotten gooner no mark scumbags. I expect big shorts, a classical haircut and …guts.

Now is the time for a masterclass from the Croatian cash n’ grab merchant. With his trusty PNB by his side, we should see some soul destroying passes fizzing about.

Bale …will tear you apart.

The seventy minute specialist would effectively give us three strikers and Arsenal more headaches than an entire day of purely drinking cocktails.

Much talk about that slide, apologies for it and the nervous anticipation of what he may do to celebrate scoring this time. My suggestion is, ‘score another one.’

Some idiot yesterday thought this image was racist. He’s black, he’s a midget, he’s a gem. Would love to see him burst the Arsenal net tomorrow. ‘I would love it.’

Subs: My selection here would be comprised of the best ones that I didn’t pick for the first eleven – with a note to include a goalie.

great to see the plastic gooners slinking out the side door at the end.

Did that include the odious Piers Morgan? He called Modric “utterly useless” on Twitter after the game. Taking a lot of stick for it now.

Was Adeboy having an off day today? He was heavily marked at times.

21 wins needed for top 4,still a way to go but thats 4 on the bounce

walker can maraud up the right if sandro, parker and modders do their job in covering, bale out left, adeboy with vdv/defoe a half

simple, top 3 here we come :finn:

if people expect or want vdv to defend up and down the right and keep balance then they are in cloud cukoo land, for one he always puts in a couple of defence splitting passes a game from the middle hole, which bale and someone fluffed today

and 2 he scores goals and often the all important first in tight, dark places, its up to the people who don’t score to fill holes and run all day, thats why they play in midfield

the game today just shows you how goals are the most important thing and vdv gets them, personally i’d start with adeboy and vdv and then bring on defoe when his 60mins is up

I absolutely do not like VDV out on the right at this time. He keeps tucking into the middle, making us too narrow and taking away space from Modders. He also does not provide any cover for Walker, who is not yet ready to defend one on one at this level.

If Sandro was put in the middle, instead of Defoe starting, possession would have been 80/20 for Arse instead of 60/40. That did not work against Wigan and would have killed us today.

I think once Thudd is healthy, the 4-3-3 will be our best formation with VDV in the lineup. Thudd keeps Modders from being doubled and his passing and poise on the ball allows VDV to stay downfield and stop crowding our central midfield. Parker will be able to slide to the right and provide cover for Walker so VDV won’t have to defend.

Until then, we are going to look very unbalanced with VDV in the lineup and continue to get dominated.

Agree re VDV on RW but it was the introduction of Sandro which stopped the Arse MF passing it round for fun and reduced their possession.
I suspect Sandro and Parker will both feature on a regular basis from now on and I think Hudd may struggle to make the starting eleven when he is fit.

    Of course it wasn’t perfect.
    It was Tottenham Hotspur FC.

But moments like these make for a precious evening, fortnight ahead.

    Congratulations to All Concerned !
