Operation Hernia

Good morning Ladykillers.

It’s all very well owning lots of stuff on DVD but the umitigated joy of switching the telly on to discover the opening credits of an all time favourite rolling is a gift. Last night I would have merrily agreed to never switch on – that thing we have all our furniture pointed at – ever again.

Enthusiasts for our approach to this tournament must be mentally exhausted from rehearsing the positives to be drawn from the game. There weren’t any. And if anyone trots out the old ‘good to see the yoofsters get a run out line’ they need to have their head examined. From the luxury of their living rooms hundreds of thousands of Tottingham fans will have gone to bed grateful they weren’t paying up to £40 to sit on a cold hard plastic seat watch it.

Did we learn anything? Tough question. Have we had enough of Pav or is it he’s had enough of us? Bassong is a waste of rations and Livermore may need to see a pharmacist this morning as he’s bound to have a rash come up after resting on his laurels for 90 minutes.

Roll on Fulham then.

Yep the picture does look a bit “Oooo er Mrs ”
as Harry does an impression of Frankie Howerd.
Still get well soon Harry !

It looked from the TV images as if Pav had pledged he would not only refrain from scoring against the Russians but also from performing anything above mediocrity. If we revisit that rare moment in the second half when Defoe did square the ball from the left side across the goalmouth exactly in the path where Pav was running only to see the Russian striker stops and then runs missing the ball in the process. On so many previous similar situations he had scored with no problem. It did raise a question mark with me to say the least. Another thing was when he was substituted; Pav looked quite relieved with a smile on his face. Townsend’s problem was his inability to swiftly return to his defence base encouraging the Russians to penetrate time and again from his unguarded flank. Lack of concentration from Bassong gifted an avoidable free kick that led to conceding the only goal. In the books there will be no mention of a young team or peripheral players, rather Tottenham’s name will certainly appear losing 1-0 to Rubin Kazan. This European competition is flawed and should be modified or to be avoided. It is just adding more burdens on clubs in terms of commitment and number of games while exhausting lots of money from the fans in a very tight economic environment.

Painful viewing, but necessary. Foolham is far more important. Good to see that the West London minnows played the first eleven last night; bad to see that old rubberchops will not be about on Sunday.

i think its good that the youngsters are getting a chance. and they are doing really well considering two wingers played at both full backs and falque played on the right instead of left. That being said there wasnt a single shot on goal but the service to the strikers was bad. the best thing to happen was livermore bringing down the dude who invaded the pitch.
Anyways, is there a player in there who has the real quality to be the next waddle or parker, or ginola? I dont know. Best player on the pitch was the oldest (Cuddle me cini)

HH,you still seem in a sulk that most fans don’t agree with you,I don’t often praise HR but in this case he’s got it right. Its so good to have a fresh team ready to start against Fulham on Sunday and the experience gained by the young lads etc etc
