Team For Cheatski

Good morning.

That charming bunch from Fulham are on their way over from Second Hand Fridge then and I can’t believe were in Gameweek 17 and I’ve yet to wheel out that hackneyed old phrase, ‘This game is pivotal’.

A reflection upon just how well things have been going, I guess.

The sinister spectre of injuries looms though and we are still waiting to see if the boy Bale will be fit. The Mirror says he will be, the Daily Mail says he won’t.

Azza Blud’s injury has been revealed as small tear that might be right in a matter of just two or three weeks. But the reality as we all know is that it’ll take that plus numerous ‘getting back to full match fitness’ appearances. So see you sometime in February old man.

Let’s hope that Arry includes Sandro whatever happens. His second half against Sunderland was superb. As I said in the ratings for that one, the trio of him, Pathe News Boy and Modric really is the business.

If Bale is banjaxed, I’d roll with Brad, A&E, Kaboul, King, Walker, Sandro, Modric, PNB, Kranjcar vdV and Adebayor.

Eye-catchers on the betting front for me have to be Modric as anytime goalscorer at 5/2 …and for those with an iron constitution Chelsea HT, Spurs FT is a whopping 22/1 both courtesy of Boylesports.

Oh and news in from a usually reliable source that David Beckham will be at The Lane tomorrow. Presumably as a spectator.

Of late Bale has been coming inside, sometimes over to the right wing. I heard him say that he was doing that ‘to improve and develop’ his game. ‘Because teams double up’ on him.

He needs to be on the left, hugging the touch line, and ‘developing’ a cross for a striker to bang in. There are more bodies inside than on the touch line; if he does what he does best, we’ll score more goals.

You are so right. There was a number of times in the second half when he was not out wide left though we had position down that flank

Bottom line, we are third going in to Christmas. We were below par tonight and still managed to avoid defeat against one of the so-called ‘big four’. The fact that we’re disappointed speaks volumes about the progress we’ve made since Harry arrived.

Had the oficials done their jobs properly against both Chelsea and Stoke we’d be well clear of the chasing pack tonight.

No cause for alarm as far as I can see.

Dont fall for this we where below par shit we where overrun by Energised players. I warned you and Spooky on his blog. I said we would face a Chelsea team who would chase us and stop us passing we fucked there plans up by scoring early. The fact Chelsea have two Liverpool players in there squad meant there tempo would be very high and lasting no matter who went off.
