Guten Abend.

From the horses mouth then.

@rafvdvaart

“…will be training again and if that goes well I will be back next game!”

By the by, the venerable OneDaveMackay & I were doing a few test runs on the old Hotspur’s Half Hour last night and this issue actually arose.

ODM felt that vdV might be out for a while yet. I felt he picked up ‘strings and strains’ like ODM picked up bagels and he would be back far sooner. But where we both agreed was would it not be better for Rafa to take some proper time off and get this ‘recurring niggle’ fixed?

So apologies for the brevity and if you garnered this info for yourselves, but I really thought it was more than worth sharing …vielleicht der Junge ist gut!

    If it was a strain on Thursday and it`s not properly repaired by Tue it could well become torn within 20-30 mins meaning 4-6 weeks off.
    We should be able to beat Norwich without him so that`s the plan, any talk is just a red herring.

    totally agree with you Razspur… if we’re not capable of resting Rafa in a game like this then we really cannot call ourselves serious contenders for a top place.. players like Defoe Niko & Pienaar need to get some action and now’s the time

    Hope you’re right about VDV,
    anyway Happy Christmas to you all, onwards and upwards for 2012. COYS.

    Do dodgy hamstrings stop you taking a decent corner?

    I could not agree more about the deadball kicks. He has a great vision for killer through balls but too much ego. Has he managed to get the ball past the first defender on anything more than 25% of his corners? Free kicks, he steps up to take, even from his wrong side, hits the wall 9 times out of ten. Bale the wonderkid deserves his fair share from the left side.
