Guten Abend.

From the horses mouth then.

@rafvdvaart

“…will be training again and if that goes well I will be back next game!”

By the by, the venerable OneDaveMackay & I were doing a few test runs on the old Hotspur’s Half Hour last night and this issue actually arose.

ODM felt that vdV might be out for a while yet. I felt he picked up ‘strings and strains’ like ODM picked up bagels and he would be back far sooner. But where we both agreed was would it not be better for Rafa to take some proper time off and get this ‘recurring niggle’ fixed?

So apologies for the brevity and if you garnered this info for yourselves, but I really thought it was more than worth sharing …vielleicht der Junge ist gut!

    We cant afford to wait for him too get fit he has not scored since October. This happened last season Harry kept playing him and we finished 5th. Our team is not balanced when he players and Graham Souness reiterated this guring the Chelsea game. Also Defoe was on fire now his heads wrecked with Harry benching him even when he has won the game or rescued with a draw.I still say our best and most productive results come from Defoe and Ady upfront 4411 plays into the hands of Top Up Tempo teams Chelsea Norwich and Swansea are all hard working now two too avoid relegation and one too avoid the sack and no Champions league. So we will have too play in a tempo we only have going forward if you looked at Chelsea you will see more no less than six players defending and when you look at our defending there is four and sometimes two and the Sturridge goal proves my point. Ekotto King and Gallas where all guilty of waiting for the ref to blow his whistle Tut Teams cant stop defending and Terry or chek would have stopped that goal. Our goal wa in what i call the normal period and after 15 mins to 20 it turns into blanket defending and manic chasing of the ball. So playing Van who is protecting stiff hamstrings he his a passenger and easy too defend against. The problem is this he is a wonderful footballer on his day and we all like him but he should never take the place of a forward because he plays too deep if our team are getting pressed by energised teams. There is other ways too play Galass King Kaboul with Walker Van Modric Parker Lennon Defoe Ady Bale 353 Or 442 but never 4411 Sandro could swap with Parker.

    He will probably score a couple Tuesday but nevertheless he is a luxury player. Ultimately we need a quicker, fitter and more mobile second striker a la Suarez.

  • I can see Spurs getting a win at Carrow Road. Hopefully VDV will be back.

    for those young yids out there, the canaries used to be our bogey team, they used to consistently nick points of us….I see no reason for this to change. We are ripe for a rogering I fear….
