The 10 O’Clocker: Wolves Schmolves

Guten tag.

Again. It’s the same song playing again on the bedside alarm clock radio. They say we’re young and we don’t know we won’t find out until we grow, well I don’t know if all that’s true…

Groundhog Day in N17 as yet again as we awake with the same trepidations about botching it against a less than brilliant side.  And then that pang of fear subsides a little because …we don’t do botch jobs anymore.

Wolves have only won away once this season in 10 games and that was against Blackburn. They’ve scored 8 times and conceded 19 times. In these 10 games they’ve just one clean sheet. This could be fun.

Prediction? I’m taking 7/1 on a 3 – 0 job from Boylesports

Think serene chaps, think effortless control like Villa, QPR and t’other night. Be strong.
Or on the other hand do like I do and wet yourself all afternoon until it’s over!

I have spent the past 2 months looking at the gap between us and the chasing pack. Today, we have a chance of winning and going joint top of the league, so now looking forwards as well as backwards. I wonder if the chance to go top will affect the players and their performance.
Expect another tough, nervy affair and unlike WBA and Everton, these have most of their players fit and available.
Think we will still win, provided we have both eyes on this game and are not thinking about the game against City next week.
L’Arse and Chelsea have tricky games this weekend so would be nice to put more distance between them and us.

I think Arse will get a draw against the Swans, and by tomorrow, we will be 11 ahead of them. During the meantime, we will hear Arsenal fans saying, “it’s only 11 points, and we still have 17 games left”.

The following week, we draw at Shitty, and they lose to Manure, and we will hear them say, “It’s only 12 points and we still have 16 games left”

If you heard Wenger this week saying “Spurs who ?” now that speeks volumes as to how much it grates the Gooners with us being so far above them, so far better than them, love it, lovin` it.

As far as the Arse fans are concerned, I am reminded of Wet Sham last year. It didn’t matter that the ship was sinking, as long as they could slag us off.

Looking at the fixtures, I see as well as Arse playing Swans, Cheatski are up against MON, who after us, have the second best run of current form in the league.

Could well be that by tomorrow, Arse and Cheatski will look like ever smaller specks in our rear view mirror. As for Liverpool, the only people who think they can overtake us are the bindippers themselves. That’s not out of realism – that’s because they think they are entitled.

Davspurs was one of the very few who consistently predicted we’d be in this position pre season on this blog and many others,to much ridicule!

Anyone think we might sign Tevez ?
Seems City will take 22 million which I guess we could find so problem would be his £200,000 a week wages.
Could we get some of this paid by sponsors ?
Would he take a pay cut to join a team where he knows he would play most weeks, would have a chance of winning the league and pissing off his current club ?
We could sign him on the basis we would sell him in the Summer for an agreed figure, so he would know any wage reduction would be short term and how much money can he spend in any event ?
Suspect HR would love him at the club and DL loves a deal.

    • Razspur says:

Tevez is reported as being prepared to accept a 40% wage cut = £120k but that`s if he goes to Milan. Doubt City would sell to us for a Kings Ransom.

    • LLL says:

I would suggest that there is no way we could pay his wages, so it’s a non-starter. And there’s no way City would sell to us given our current position, so it’s a non-non-starter.

      • david says:

Is that a no then ?

      • TMWNN says:

I was amazed they lent us Adebayor. What a bunch of berks City would look if we actually pulled this off! I bet who ever gave the green light for that deal is starting to feel very uncomfortable.

        • TMWNN says:

…and let’s not forget they’re paying more than half of his ludicrous wage.

        • SpurredoninDublin says:

I wasn’t amazed at the loan. They had to do something to reduce their wage bill under FFPR, and there was also his reputation for being a difficult player.

What has amazed me (and probably Shitty as well) is just how close we are to them in the table. Last season, if we had played to our potential, we should have finished second. Unfortunately, our ability to find banana skins last year was even greater than the hungriest chimp in Covent Garden Market. Perhaps they mistook our bad luck, and actually thought they really were better than they actually were last year.

If ever there was a victory to be had, it is probably the one that sank off the coast a few years back

Wolves are in fine form for a drubbing , lets not disappoitn them COYS
