Player Ratings Made To Make Your Mouth Water

Good morning.

Apologies for lack of activity but I am assured that thanks to the sterling efforts of the world’s finest digital minds the damp sellotape holding the server together has been replaced with stout British string.

The game against Newcastle goes straight into the Top 10 of the best I’ve ever seen. The stage was set for a tough ol’ showdown. Newcastle it could be said, still had the wind up ’em. Pardew has almost reached the point where he can travel to and from Sid James Park without an armed guard.

Newcastle may have in part inexplicably failed to have shown up, but we didn’t win 5-0 because the pitch was on a slant and the ball rolled in of it’s own accord.

Highlights? Krankie proved a noble stand in for the missing Dutchman, who for keen eyed kids was in a box, on the wine wearing one of those foam musical birthday cake hats.

Walker’s defending is visibly improved. That’s all I ever asked for. I never said he needed to work on his conversational Japanese. Pathe News Boy is the N17 Enforcer. Bale was a bit off the boil. Adebayor was a sensation. A revelation. Saha may well be mounting the greatest comeback since Lazarus.

The stars of the show were the home crowd and the manager. I like lots of singing. I like the manager going bonkers when the goals go in. So I was a very happy boy with all of that business.

Walker got 79% with me, Bale 72%, Parker 92%, Saha 89% and Ade MOTM 95%, Daws was the weakest link at 70% but if the weakest is 70 that indicates the amazing level of performance. Rest the core there are battles to be won, best 45 mins from us in half a centuary in my opinion. Just Saying.

Not for me, Ajax, Hoddle v Cryuff 1st 45, simply amazing. But Sat was brilliant.

      • Razspur says:

No Sats was close to total football, only PNB`s foul on the edge of the “D” marred a superbly dominant half. But `82 was a fine year with Perryman, Clemence, Hoddle, Archiebald,Falco and a couple of fine Argentinians. Would love to see a player like Hoddle taking our set pieces today.

Cryuff, who incidentally was my favourite player as a kid, pretty much gave up after that lesson….

    • Hartley says:

Thouroughly enjoyed the first 45 at the Lane on Saturday, but I think too many are getting a bit carried away…..as good and as loud as the first half was, the second was poor after Bale was replaced and the home crowd quite subdued considering the score….

      • Essexian76 says:

Thought pretty much the same thing, even said to my kid at half-time whether they’ll coast and see out the 2nd half, and as you said directly Bale came off, it petered out somewhat, especially with 20 to go

        • Hartley says:

We could’ve and should’ve got 10…..sometimes making a statement of intent in one game is better than resting players for the next ….The game is about GLORY after all….

        • Razspur says:

The game was in the bag, not worth risking injuries, it was right just to play the clock down. If PNB, the Croat or Ade had done a string for nothing it would have left a bad taste. Keep our powder dry for the mighty Gunners (excuse me for laughing).

        • Hartley says:

The game was in the bag after 6 minutes……you would have been happy with 2-0 and a longer debut for the former(overweight) player that is Ryan Nelson?

        • Hartley says:

CORRECTION…..at 12.28 I said ‘is’ about GLORY….I meant ‘was’ won’t be ‘is’ until we get rid of the self proclaimed “I’m a fantastic football manager” otherwise known as 1 trophy in 30 years, Arry Redknapp…..

        • Razspur says:

You should never slacken off after 2-0 who taught you tactics, get a grip and stop talking bollocks, but when it was clearly well won then it`s time to stroke it about and make the opposition chase shaddows. Do you know anything about football ?

        • Hartley says:

Do you PAY money to go to football Raz? I do week in, week out…and travel 450 miles+ just for home games….I certainly don’t expect massive wins every week on 40 years previous experience alone, in fact I’m happy with 1-0, but Saturday was different…..whatever Brown Ale did to stop us, didn’t work…whatever Arry did 2nd half did…..most ignorant football fans who learn their trait from commentators and pundits will tell you that at 2-0 you slow down the game and save your best players, unfortunately I cannot pass the baton on to my fellow Yorkshiremen Sir Bill Nicholson or Keith Burkinshaw to reply, but if I could the pair of em would be calling you a fool…

        • Razspur says:

Yes. That`s why Harry Redknapp is our manager and idiots like you constantly criticise. What has the distance one travels to do with the price of fish ? As for slackening the grip after 7mins at 2-0 you just haven`t got a clue. Stop gripeing and get behind the club you alledge you support or give Paul Smith a call, Leeds could do with another whinger.

        • Razspur says:

Bill Nicholson in the eyes of many, myself included, deserved a Knighthood, sadly it was not to be and he remained OBE, you get so many vital facts wrong your posts are rendered worthless. The menopause has wreaked havoc with your emotions and ability to reach a balanced point of view.

        • Hartley says:

He will always be ‘Sir Bill’ to me……. ;-)

I am sure most if not all would agree that i am the most level headed contributer to this Blog.
Sir Alex Ferguson has yet to apologise for his inappropriate comments on Saturday. Maybe he doesn`t do apologies being a Knight, if so he is only half the man i thought he was and it`s time he retired. Really wound up a Manc today, it almost came to blows but a few lads took the heat out of it. Mancs can`t take the flak.

I cant stop watching this, were we that good or were they that bad?My take ,we were that good. we are easily playing the best footy in the prem second to none. coys

Got to say good show to all the lads and with the injuries we’ve had to still be where we are is fan feckin tastic but when we’ve had a chance to really put the pressure on, to really state we want it ! We’ve been robbed and also not done it. Stoke, city, wolves all games we could/should have won 8 more points & were top? Loving the good times but seen too many just fade away.redchops has done a good job but what a good footing to build on he had. Let him go bring in Jose attract the next level player and keep fingers crossed. Coys
