Good afternoon and welcome.

Arry’s presser this morning will come as a bitter pill for those still intent upon believing he has any intention of staying at The Lane.

He announced that he has been speaking to Levy & Co. every day and that no new contract (“…and I haven’t pushed him to either…” ) or August war chest has been discussed.

Anyway the whole will she, won’t she saga is too boring to contemplate. If Slur Alex Ferguson has been told by the FA not to discuss the England manager vacancy then it can only be because they wish to hoodwink the public that they are following due process and the appointment isn’t  a foregone conclusion.

The injuries are piling up nicely. Dawson, Azza, Galvin, Hazzard, Dozzell, Perryman and Crooksy all confirmed as out.

Gomes has obviously been banished by the multilingual motivator Redschnapps and whilst I’m a Friedel fan, he has been letting in goals – whether his fault or his back four’s – like a good ‘un. So taking match form into consideration when picking a side, I’d plump for Carlos between the sticks.

King must be rested,  even if he swears blind he’s as fit as fiddle. The last two outings weren’t up to scratch and he can’t be indulged right now.

Defoe has completely earned the right to play and so what ever the deal is with Saha, he gets benched. The real problem with the absence of Azza and the ‘automatic’ lack of width it will provoke.  Modric on the wing is a waste, but would vdV have the self control to stay wide?

Speaking of self control, it’ll be interesting to see what tactics Bale and his agent  opt for. How I would love to see a banner saying, ‘Stay On The Wing!’ in the Away End.

Eye-catcher bets

A 1-2 win  is 17/2,  Anytime Goalscorer Modric is 7/2 and for some general cover insurance take Half Time Draw Full Time Tottenham 5/1.

Lets be honest here. What other profession can you be a complete disaster, get the sack, alomg with a gargantuan payoff. Get a new job soon after and continue to be a disaster? Thats right, A Football Manager! If Harry Buffoon is the Nailed on Peoples Favourite then Jesus Save Us. Bring Back Hoddle or Anyone till the end of the season. Sack this overrated clown.

I can hear the chant already:

10 points, and you f*cked it up

Kind of puts 2 points from 8 games into perspective, eh?

If you was a bricklayer and everyday you built a wall but had to knock it down because you built in the wrong place and didnt look at the plans ,how long would you last?
what about you keep scoring goals but they get dissallowed because you dont understand the rules of offside since forever.
thats all right he bangs them in for fun in training hes really sharp top top striker in fact.
yeah but theres no linesman and ref in training :shocked2:

I know a lot on here think that DL is holding on as long as he can to get the best deal for Spurs in compensation when Engerland do finally come calling….but surely we also have to think about how much we will lose in revenue when we fail to finish with CL qualification due to the Redschnapps ‘will he won’t he’ saga…

Not sure how we will turn the season around, just wish one of the press guys would ask our manager why he thought it would be more benefical to have Bale playing against Baines than Neville. It makes no sense as far as I can see.

      • Hartley says:

Apparently Arry is ‘puzzled’ as to how we lost today’s game……hardly rocket science Twitchy!

I saw his post match interview and he said just what I expected. ” Battered them second half, only one team in it, not sure how we lost, had no luck, blah blah, yeah yeah, triffic.”

      • Alspur says:

You’ve got a fair point, David – we would all have liked to see much more of Bale on the left…

…but I remember a certain game against Everton last season when Neville did a job on Bale and he didn’t get a kick – not a kick… his quietest game of the season…

        Just saying…

        • Hartley says:

Neville and 2 others, I was there! and if I had been managing the team I would have instructed the players to concentrate on the right wing and Azza…..but I’m not and Arry is and Arry didn’t and Phil Neville got built up to high heaven for taming Bale, Arry lost faith in him on the left and there in explains why he does what he does with the best left winger in Europe…..

I also recall that game and Neville was assisted by Coleman amongst others I believe.
The point is, in yesterdays game, Bale produced nothing on the right, Modric produced nothing on the left.
Bearing in mind Bale is supposed to be the best LW around and by switching him and Modric you would automatically have him running at Neville why wait to make the change until the 83 minute ?
I have backed Harry in the past but his decisions yesterday made us weaker, not stronger.

  • Stubarney says:

When I last watched us, we had 0 points from 3 games.

    • Hartley says:

And a manager with one trophy in 30 years……

      • Stubarney says:

Just read that Harry could not see how we lost today, he needs to go to spec savers then!! He said he played Bale on the right as he does that for Wales, I forgot they are the Brazil of Europe!! Oh god help us!!
