The 10 O’Clocker | Hazard, Dembele & Adrian …Feh

Guten Abend.

The near feverish allure of the old Premiership rupees combined with a resurgent season have only added vim and vigor to the Tottingham’s place in transfer tittle tattle.

Eden Hazard’s name is still doing the rounds. No shocker there. One minute he’s saying we’d fit the bill (bless him) the next he’s flattered by interested in interest from Sluralix. The boy’s done well, hence perhaps the initial Premiership interest from Auntie Wenger.

Bottom line is he’s an arguably polished Taarabt. To be frank I’m struggling to see the allure.

Another name doing the rounds is that of Moussa Dembele. Ouch. I’d kinda hoped we weren’t in Fulham territory these days when it came to transfer speculation.  Yep, upon careful consideration I’d rather have a tooth removed by a drunk with crowbar than see some 3rd rate plumber’s mate like Moussa in the Lilywhite.

Elsewhere, the 24 year old Spanish International Adrian is linked. With £15m’s worth of buy out clause it doesn’t make him impossible, but is he Champions League material? I’m unconvinced.

My concern is more about who will be managing us after August and who’ll they will actually buy…

I just want to beat Bolton and go on a run to hold on to 3rd. Cant take anymore sc#m player comments.

Essexian we could have had Llorente in Jan 11 for £28m buyout, again in the summer but baulked at the price, as his contract expires summer`13 and he refuses to extend we had another chance in Jan `12 at £24m but HR thought we had adequate cover. Now the guy has been highlighted his price will rocket, esp after Spain win Euro`12 with Llorente leading the line. We are not a progressive club and will suffer as a result, i thought Levy had more vision.

Not progressive? Four seasons ago we were scrapping with the likes of Sunderland, Fulham and Everton for the position of Kings of the also-rans. Scrapping for Champs League with the most watchable team in the Premiership seems like progression to me.

Don’t be daft, the answer is always throw shedloads of money at the problem and never, ever consolidate because we’re the richest club in the universe what with our 100k capacity stadium,Bill Gates at the helm. I’d like to see solid gold goal posts with diamond encrusted chicken badges throughout the staduim, money well spent I say!

      • Razspur says:

Spurious do you mean scrapping for CL qualification ? As for most watchable, yes once in every 6 games, what was watchable against Watford, Liverpool, Stevenage Away, Arsenal 2nd half, Great 1st half against Newcastle. Frustrating from a squad who should do better.

        • spurious says:

I was referring to this Raz – http://www.thescore.ie/tottenham-voted-most-watchable-team-in-premier-league-384536-Mar2012/
I believe they look at the season to date and not just specific games, but they’re not as fickle as some of us. ;-)
We’re all frustrated fella, only some of us want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Impatience and petulance aren’t particularly admirable qualities, it’s no wonder we get stick from other fans. It’s time for some to wind their necks in, we haven’t heard Kiri Te Kanawa sing yet.

        • Razspur says:

Were you at the Newcastle game ? Did you go to Stevenage ? This is March 2012, i live in the present, and at present we are dire (fact).
For me the next game is the important one, past games are stats, the good and the bad. Try to see things as they really are and stop typing such drivvel.

        • spurious says:

Haven’t been for 3 months due to a ruptured ACL that I’m waiting to have fixed. I agree, we are dire at present, but it’s about the season not the next game. I prefer to see things in a more positive light, if in your opinion that’s drivel, fine, at least I can spell it.

        • Essexian76 says:

Kiri Te Kanawa-she ain’t fat-now when your talking about Vanessa Phelps belting out a tune-then I’m worried!

    • Essexian76 says:

@Raz..So he wasn’t ‘do-able’ back then, which makes him less likely to be now. As for the Brazilian, my understanding is that his club prevented the sale not Levy baulking at the price, in order to whore him around for another season…not unlike Hazard’s agent eh?

      • Razspur says:

Ess you`re confused, we had the money to buy in Jan `11 just needed to commit, i was not referring to any Brazilian poss Engnor was so i`m not sure what you`re referring too. We have been caught short again, must we continue this cycle.

        • Essexian76 says:

No make, feckinell, we didn’t have the bucks, but we did have a whole stack of deadwood stinking the place out, all of whom took up squad positions and resources that were prohibitive to a potential gamble on a 20million plus player. Still got a lot of deck clearing to go yet, and until Harry walks or stays, even players such as Bale and Modric aren’t definite starters come August. Anyway it wasn’t a lack of goals that have caused this current slump, it’s been more a case of a reality check for some of our ‘superstars’ re-entering the planet with a loud thump

  • TMWNN says:

Talking of Phils, why do we appear to have a fallen off the wagon Phil Mitchell in goal?

  • EngNor says:

RazSpur. The same scenario as Damiao, He`d be in a Spurs shirt now if Levy had matched their initial 18mil estimate. Frustrating!

  • AmdamSpurs says:

I don’t think Dembele would be the worst signing, he’s looked quite nifty for (albeit) Fulham, we just don’t need any more players to fill the middle of the park! Can’t stress how much we need Vertonghen, been watching most Ajax games and he looks the complete package, great sweeper, strides out of defence and rarely gives away possession, strong header, intelligent fella overall. Just the kind of player we’ll overlook :dizzy2:
