A Big Get Well Soon To Steve Perryman

Good evening.

From the Exeter City site then…

Exeter City Director Of Football Steve Perryman was taken to hospital during today’s match after feeling breathless.

He is now comfortable in hospital and of course if there are any further updates you’ll read them here and on our Facebook andTwitter pages.

In the all too unfortunately dismal world of football ‘stars’, Steve Perryman constantly demonstrates himself as man cut from the same cloth as men like Martin Chivers, Dave Mackay and Gary Mabbutt. A thoroughly decent chap.

A huge get well soon from all of us, mate.

Stevie P embodied Spurs when I was a boy.

One of my all-time favorite players and Tottenham through and through.

    .
Legend, proper, the real McCoy. I’ll never forget the way Stevie put a stop to some aggressive bullying of Spurs, by ipswich at Portman Road around 1981/82, with a thigh high studs up tackle on some agricultural tractor boy or other. They got a strop on but their tackling calmed no end. If I remember rightly some of our silly lot smashed the town centre shops up a bit before the match. Not before my dad bought me a Duffle coat though; them were the days.

Wishing Steve all the best – top spurs player & genuine man – spoke to his brother earlier tonight around 7pm and was not good news – now comfortable in hospital – best wishes to him & his family

Hope he makes a speedy recovery, loved him as a player, as others have said, he was everything that I felt a footballer should be.

‘Met’ him once coming home from an england game, stopped for a piss outside leyton orients ground, was in mid flow when a little door opened right by me and Stevie P came out! No idea why because he was with Exeter I think at the time.
