Benny Just Made It Into My All Time Top 5 Comedians

Good afternoon.

I instinctively like A&E. Not the world’s greatest footballer, but arguably the coolest left back in the west. It’s a dog eat dog world and those hanging upon the every word of ‘footballers’ sometimes forget they have entered into a world where John Terry’s ethical compass is broken but not uncommon.

I like Benny because he doesn’t pretend.  No newspaper clippings of Spurs ‘greats’ became oiled at their corners then dried out as the Blutak stuck then decayed over time on his bedroom wall.

He freely acknowledges that he’s a jobbing footballer who to his absolute credit gives his up most wherever he lays his hat.

That said, there will be some who’s nest has been poked by his latest comments.

“Everything is possible, when I met the chairman last January he told me that, if a club bigger than Tottenham came in for me, he wouldn’t necessarily be against my departure.

If there is a change at Tottenham – some more money is made available – I wouldn’t be against the idea of staying, but otherwise I’ll try to move forwards, as I did when I left Lens.”

Fair fecks to him is what I say. If Levy & Co. don’t think he’s worth a deal, then that’s the way the cookie crumbles.  But the next bit puts him right up there, for me…

“I have a gentleman’s agreement with the chairman. As he is a man of his word, I hope that will make things easier if a great club comes in.”

I cannot believe after the, ‘no like chicken badge’ fiasco with that Croatian knitwit that Benny didn’t know what he was saying. Genius.

Now who’s in your Top 5 comedian list? To be honest I never gave it any genuine thought before now… Sellers is there, then…

I think its time for Benny to go….i will miss him, I just think we need a battler at left back somebody who cares…

Every year we slip up in the away games against the weaker sides and Benny is usually the main culprit.

The obvious replacement is Baines, but Everton will ask for too much therefore my other choices would be Neil Taylor (Swansea) real good left back, Swansea have kept endless clean sheets this year and he is a major reason…..Martin Olsson (Blackburn) they just got relegates but have some good individuals just a crap manager….Robinson, Hoilett and Olsson would be useful for us

I love Benny!! Probably our best ever left back after Knowles, perhaps in equal 2nd with Hughton? Whatever he says he always gives his all, not just a mercenary. Would have beaten Villa if he’d been fit I’m sure. I love his honesty, makes such a change from the bullshit badge kissing that means nothing. Please stay Benny. And as for Rose, maybe, just maybe he’s worth loaning out for a year to see if he develops but I don’t see it.

Develops into what? a footballer? tick tock tick tock. We should loan him to one of the bigger outlets such as Burger king or KFC? Or start him at dixie fried chicken.

Rose is not a left back but a left winger who has been blighted by injuries he has never played left back for the under 21. Adam Smith is better defender wrong foot. The Club Benny is tying to entice is PsG. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DELUDED PILLOCK

Sorry Jill. Even Wing Nut Edinburgh gets the nod over A&E. Clive Wilson too. And Van Den Hauwe. Hughton the classiest of the lot. Way better than Sansom of that time. ‘Fraid A@E is,at best, 4th or 5th in pecking order

  • Simon says:

Amazed that Harry isn’t getting blamed for this…..

  • Jill says:

PS Taylor is Swansea’s weakest player by a distance and as for Baines, not fit to clean Benny’s boots.
