Good afternoon.

I trust those of you basking in the UK heatwave are taking all necessary precautions this weekend; drinking only where there is table service, sporting knotted hankies when moving out of shaded areas.

News in from yonder tulip shaped window.

A €12.6m bid is in from us according to Ajaxshowtime.com and just a hint of speculation that this offer is sufficiently close enough to the €15m that Ajax really wanted. Perhaps then as the author of the Dutch piece suggests, Levy & Co. convinced them to take a little water with their wine.

Let’s really hope so.

Were it not for the stunning loss of CL money we would have snapped up Vertonghen and a top striker by now. In the circumstances, Levy has not got much money to throw around.

He would have a hell of a lot more money, if he cut the dross from our squad and freed up some wages. Why we need such a huge squad when the manager doesn’t believe in two-thirds of them, is beyond me. We should peg it at 25. Instead of holding out for truly unrealistic sums for some of our deadwood, hold a fire sale and get rid of those who will NEVER feature in the first team, quickly. We can use the money AND cut the wage bill at the same time (or redistribute it to key players.)

      • If they at least played a couple for more than 8 seconds each they may do something like score an amazing goal or get their heads to a ball for a corner…that would be an accomplishment but also it may raise their value from 28 pence for 42 pence.
I think Gio hasnt had a fair crack,or Kranjcar or Defoe or Saha….so we have no idea what they are worth.

How about getting Huth from Stoke? He’s on his last year of his contract, has bags of premiership experience and is aggressive.

my testes will weigh no lighter until I see him in the shirt.
Stannah Humperdink is claiming politics…we know its Howard Webb.

Jan Faartinman knockes defenders down like skittles attacks the ball with his head and puts it in the back of the net at corners,I’m telling ya the Faart dont play!
Don’t mess with the Faart he told Ajax sell me now or I wait for a year and go for nothing.
    ATTITUDE :ninja:and Sandro sorted.

Quite a bit of animosity towards DL. I can see that he’ll be worthy of criticism if we end up without the players we need to strengthen, particularly if we lose Mod or Bale, and most definitely if we lose out on players because of DL’s negotiation tactics. But it is still May ffs. I’d say we have the best chairman in the league. He has his faults, but the rest have many more.

Much of the frustration is probably from the failure to qualify for the CL. We had a squad capable of pissing third and we didn’t. Worse still we were in the position to piss third and we didn’t. Go figure.

Totally agree but most fans have become spoilt brats these, no patience or appreciation, just whining little babies because they are wound up by the media and others.. Even some stoke fans are saying pulls should go.. Shocking.. All these spoilt fans talk about players having no loyalty but maybe they should look at the loyalty they are providing to the people that got us to where we are today..I love spurs, good things come to those who wait, just because we are close to doing something special doesn’t mean we should blow our tops if it doesn’t happen straight away.. The future is bright, the future is lily white .. Let’s be real ‘supporters’ you lot sound more like united and Chelsea fans every second.

I’m inclined to agree with that last statement.
However, these last few windows have been a very frustrating for fans players and the club. So it really is about time we started building on what we have, before what we have turns to shit.

What it must be to be pompous and a fakwit.Has it occurred to you that King is finished, Modric will be off Adebeyor is only on loan and Defoe may leave.
And guess what children, other clubs may want to buy the players we are after no matter how much Danny and Harry like them
        Back to your train set.

No animosity towards levy now but I will never forget the Ar*enal cheers when he dropped GG and brought in Hoddle and its immediate effect..

I don’t mind his skills but I just HATE the last minute one month into the season transfers. It’s a little like miss perfect in all but no t*ts to speak of. I know you cannot have everything but surely there must be a chairman equivalent of silicon?
