Good evening viewers.

We trade seven days – we kick a non stop operation.

This whole Gylfi Sigurdsson thing started what a few days back and it seemed interesting but a little implausible. What’s not up for debate is that he had an outstanding season at Swansea and to land him would be well… schweet.

From Kilhari on Spurs Community then.

I don’t post regularly as you can see. I’m not someone ‘ITK’ but found out from someone important today (and saw photo) of Sigurdsson having successfully completed his medical in a Spurs top with my source (who’s one of my bosses).

He’s signed for us on the quiet yet to be announced and has had his medical today!

That’s all I know (nothing about the fee etc)

Oh, I’m a doctor in London btw.

Hope this helps!

havent watched many swansea games would this bloke be a starter. Everyone seems to sing his praise what sort of mid is he. On another note by the end of the week Blanc to be announced manager fingers crossed

    • Steve spurs says:

He’s an attacking mid bill would fit in lovely with scotty and sandro I was at the spurs v swans game and I thought he was best player on pitch

He indeed looked very tasty that day. He passed his medical at Swansea when they were looking to make the move permanent but once Rodgers (who he’d played under previously at Reading) did a runner to Liverpool the move didn’t go through.

As I understand it Reading (minus Rodgers) then sold him to Hoffenheim for a club record fee but then Hoffenheim themselves changed managers and he didn’t really figure in the new man’s plans, hence the Swansea loan.

22 years old, back to buying younger talent then and not signing thirtysomethings then :daumen:

  • Mr Spiggott says:

HH – maybe he could room with Benzema :-D

    (couldn’t resist) :pirat:

    • Harry Hotspur says:

I have been told that this is unlikely. Benzema isn’t a people person, quite a reclusive character…

      • Phil McAvity says:

Did those Benzema coffee mugs ever get put on special HH? You’ve got to save the pennies where you can in this current climate.

I’m only asking as I’ve just broken my Rivaldo mug!!

I can’t really say am that wild about him. He looked ok in a average team. I am assuming we are getting him as a semi replacement for Mods. Not really the type of player I was hoping we would be in for. Not as good as vdv and really nowhere near as good as mod… A little baffled by this one

He was better than just “ok” on an average team. Before Sig, Swansea averaged 1.15 points per game and were in 14th spot. After Sig, their PPG went to 1.333 (for a season average of 1.24 and they rose to finish 3 places higher, in 11th. Had he played for the whole season, one could extrapolate that they would have gained a further 4 points and finished in the top 10. Now, imagine what 4 extra points would have done for OUR season! 7 goals from only 18 games, for a midfielder, is nothing to be sneered at. It’s a better average than Modric, VDV, Bale or Lennon and, at 22, he’s still learning his craft. We ended the year with one of the oldest, if not THE oldest average age for our first team and, if we intend to sustain a meaningful challenge in the future, we need quality players, schooled in the “passing game”, who are young enough to be with us for the long haul. Sig fits that bill perfectly….and that’s not to even mention the satisfaction I get from gazumping Liverpool!.

This might be true, but I would think we would loose a fair few points without Modric in the team. If he where to stay then this would make more sense. Modric is a world class player and will leave a massive hole when he leaves. As much as Sig might be good, he is not Modric.

all theses accusations of signing/selling and monitoring of players…………

makes me think that the manager is in place and has been for a long time – using all available data, it is either avb or sherwood

  • Levy=manager says:

Lol, modric replacement. It’s good you have a director pickimg your purchases

    Mid table next year

    Lol, laughing stock
