It would be encouraging to imagine Bale has signed an extension because he is excited about the prospect of all the “new” developments at the club…. however I suspect this is a Levy initiative to maximise his sell on value and he has probably said to Bale stay here another season and I will extend your contract terms and if you want to go next summer then you can and you will get a much bigger slice of the pie as a percentage if your contract value is higher. I cannot be seen to let you go this season as I am selling Modric and i wouldnt be able to keep the supporters on side and the season ticket revenues up if I sold you as well ..
