Sex, Lies & Oven Chips

Good afternoon.

Gareth Bale’s in the public eye. Not for his ear adjustment, rather the fact that he swerved playing football in the Olympics for Team GB. Sepp Blatter wants the Welsh wizard banned. Nice work Sepp.

With all the corpulent corruption that exists in the modern… oh hang on, you’ve been on the take since ’88 so the route of this is almost certainly down to trying to some elaborate five star junket this summer…

“If a club does not release a player then this association can come to FIFA and we will then ban this player during the Olympics.

“So far nobody has come to us but it is a possibility we could ban these players if they are not at the disposal of the national team.”

Bale is quoted as saying:

“My rehab’s gone very well at the club. We are well ahead of schedule and I am glad to be back.”

Gary Lineker tweeted:

“Once in a lifetime opportunity thrown away. Baffled.”

Well Gary, maybe he’s actually interested in taking part in something useful like a  preseason with a team that are part of the real world – opposed to some public school boy, London centric w@ankfest.

Not everyone is basking in the glow of the spirit of the games.  The majority of people see The Games exactly for what they are; an over hyped, over priced hotch potch of minority sports that nobody really cares about.

Elsewhere Gomes has been opening his heart to The Sun. I say opening his heart but anyone with half a brain could have guessed what he had to say. Arry was a poor communicator, froze out a player who’s form dipped rather than addressed issues and cost the club millions by refusing to sell the player on. What a blessing that parasite was eventually binned.

After watching some highlights on ESPN I see that some some proclaimed tactical geniuses are already declaring themselves not only experts but severe critics on the Andrè Villas-Boas ‘high line.’

I’ll keep this brief.

One, if you could discern or deduce anything from watching what’s occurred out there so far please forward me a mailing address because I want to send you a special shiny medal (not one of the normal ones).

And two, if you are worried about the implementation of a high line after three seasons of applauding A&E and Walker playing as out and out wingers then you know more about oven chips than you do about football.

Just read the story on Sportinglife.com. Not impressed. It seems that Kruncher is in favour of players breaching contracts. I wonder what he would have said if the club refused to honour his contract and pay him.

As for Kiev being a “bigger” club, I rate them about the same level as Wet Sham.

Funny he should challenge DL’s integrity, having moved to one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, where I am sure nobody will ever try to take advantage of the situation.

As for his comments on how DL, gets what he wants when he sells a player, all that does is confirm my belief that we have the best Chairman in the PL. And long may it be so. I am so delighted that the image of us being bullied by players or other clubs in transfer dealings is a thing of the past

WTF is lineker even talking about,GB isn’t even a team but i’ll give it a watch because i like footy, there isn’t a scot/NI out there so its a joke anyway and pearces favourite word is definitely magnitude,

Bellamy nearly had his leg broken last night, hardly worth it when the real football starts with the league, cups and WC qualifying

people should enjoy the olympics for what they are a festival of minor sports and i do like a bit of track and field on the biggest stage

The Olympics, as devised by Baron De Coubertin were a magnificent idea, as long as they kept to the Olympic motto: Citius, Altius, Fortius.

Unfortunately, they now include so many sports that are judged subjectively, rather than objectively and the IOC has sold their soul to the devil.

If the games could be returned to this original ideal, then I might have some real enthusiasm for them.

As for that other corrupt organisation, FIFA, Blagger should take a leaf out of the Met Police handbook, and limit his comments to “We have not received a complaint, and until we do, we cannot comment”. Instead, he is actively encouraging a complaint where it appears that there are no grounds for complaint, and to make matters worse, has already announced the punishment before he has heard both sides of the story. Where is the “due process” in that?

I agree totally with your point my friend. I’ve never understood the criteria for a sport to be included in the Olympics.
Golf will be in the Summer Olympics in 2016 for instance (which, to be fair it was in 1900 and 1904 – but back then it would have been a truly amateur sport).
I can only surmise that the IOC use powerful ancient ju-ju, shamanism and ‘Wicker Man’ style pagan magic to decide on which sports qualify.

Either that or it’s filthy lucre talking loudest again……

          its a molech/mammon conbo

        • SpurredoninDubblin says:

          @Mitchell.

The original criteria for inclusion was that it had to be measurable under the Olympic motto. So obviously, Swimming and Athletics would be in, but “Synchronised Swimming/Diving”?

The games have been devalued: Eight Golds in the swimming is a joke, when you consider that the 100 metres champ is usually also the 50 and 200 champ as well

There used to be an event called the “Standing Broad Jump” which was the long jump without a run up, but for my money, it is more legitimate in the Olympics than gymnastics, because it is scientifically measurable.

In the days of the “Soviet Empire”, in any sports that that were reliant on judges, there was always a suspicion that the Warsaw Pact countries colluded to make sure that they won the medals.

I think the noble Baron would be turning over in his grave at the his legacy to the world when you see some of the sports that have been included. One criterion is “demonstration sports”. The host country is allowed to introduce a sport and if it is adopted permanently, the medals are included in the “all time table”. If not, medals are awarded and only count in the table for that year. An example of a country introducing a demo sport, is the Seoul Games where Korea introduced Tae Kwon Do.

Hope this helps you to understand.

@ Dub-Does the Baron get marks for making a decent turn in his grave?

      • kojac says:

well things move on,i have no problem with the olympics being what it is,i doubt the over forties will see it again in england so just enjoy it for what it is,it will be good as the brits will go go and support the sports which is what it is about really, someone said if the olympics isn’t the pinnacle of that sport then it shouldn’t be involved, which i agree with really, most of these sports have their worlds and the olympics

      • Harry Hotspur says:

Couldn’t agree more. They have removed The Tug Of War. Now, I’m not saying reinstating it would justify a £27M opening ceremony, but I’d have a passing Britain’s Strongest Man type interest. That village fete type thing is probably seen as mildly entertaining by lots of people.

But this whole ‘Olympiad’ and corrupted made up verb business is mind numbing. ‘Medaled’ ?! Normally when someone is meddling they face a stiff jail term and putting on an offenders list.
