The 5 O’Clocker: Bids In For Two

Bonjourno.

A genuine sense of moving forward is the vibe I’m being told about. Take that last Sunday Express article, work out the diametric opposite and that is where the club is presently at.

Adebayor is not ‘done’, but the man himself is really keen to be part of next season’s campaign with us. The change of coach hasn’t effected his position as he is keen to prove he’s worth a first team shirt under ‘whoever’ , which is superb.

The second snippet is in relation this Oscar chap. The attacking Mid from Brazil. Whilst the exact figure isn’t confirmed, what I am told is that negotiations have reached a point whereby both parties want to ‘work something out.’

Ooh my days.

Despite looking below average at times last year, adebayor contributed 28 goals! Good proven strikers are hard to come by these days say so I say we should get him in,

I’m feeling an overall wafting sense of zen excitedness. Not a one-off, oo-errr excited but a general sense of wellbeing which is definitely up there with what you’d describe as being ‘well happy’.

Optimism, such an alien sensation for a Spurs fan when it doesn’t come with a hangover of gut-wrenching dread. Nice.

No like Adebayor for the money….

No like his 2nd season syndrome either ;-)

No like his first touch… :wassat:

Would Ade really have that 2nd year syndrome? I know it would be his second year here.. But we can all safely say it won’t be anything like the last one under HR? He would have to prove it to AVB?

Well, when you look at history and every club he’s played for has suffered the same fate,so why should we be any different?, Heap big money for possibly heap big trouble, not for me as I think there are better out there without the baggage and have more ability.

    • Phil McAvity says:

Well I quite like his 18 goals and 12 assists. I think he’d get even more this season too………

I reckon the fact we have a new manager means he is keen for at least another season.

        • essexian76 says:

Hope you and Phil are right, because it’s beneficial to the team and our success, but I’m an historian, and history proves human frailty time and time again-it’s in his genes

The prospect of AVB implementing his footballing ethos across all levels of the academy really makes me optimistic for the future of Spurs, the new training facilities attracting the best of both youth and experience, exciting times ahead I recon.
There will be readers on this blog that won’t appreciate they speak Portugues in Brazil, that’s great news should we sign any players from there, and for Sandro/Gomes…
I hope we hold on to Gomes, deserves one last chance imo, think it was Hiddink that really rates the guy. Even if he’s kept for bench warming purposes…
I was hoping GDS would get one final run in the side too, never got to see the best of him in a Spurs shirt. Looks like he’ll be off after today, possibly raised his stock slightly with recent Int’l performances??

Just heard on SSN that goonie shareholders are writing to the goonie board to complain about their current transfer policy, the day gets better!! :-)

I would like the VDV situation to be sorted out soon ( I have a terrible rash and my gonads are like raw grapefruit.)
As he completely cocks the shape of the team up but has moments of genius, particularly when partnered with Jenny Craig and Scary Spice.
