Vide Cor Meum ushers in the first strands of morning light.

He has been preparing for this day from the moment he survived an Amyl Nitrate overdose twenty minutes after the last transfer window closed. Gently woken from a medically induced coma at an undisclosed location, a woozy middle aged man takes his first few sips of nuromuscular blockers in solution.

So here we are once again then. I was toying with the idea of a live blog but to be honest until someone makes one that is actually ‘liver’ than this format there’s little point. So this page will be with us until 2300hrs and then a new blog with detailed analysis of where we are tomorrow morning will be published, tomorrow morning.

The news about the hiccup on the Loris deal cause heated angst to be sprayed at Levy & Co. with fire extinguisher pressure. I don’t have a problem with opinion, but today may prove too action packed for comments with rude words in to be tweaked and salvaged from moderation. So perhaps weigh up the loss of impact your expletive has with an asterisk compared with the loss of impact of the entire comment never being read.

So what might happen?

Well, Moutinho is very likely if want him to be our most expensive signing ever.

‘Porto is an extremely difficult club to deal with. I don’t think he is a player we can afford. I have never hidden that he is a player of tremendous qualities – there are only a few players who can come in straight away to a team and have a direct impact.

Only world-class players do that and he is certainly one of them but it doesn’t mean it’s within our reach.’

Villas-Boas yesterday.

I think we are most likely to land Daniel Sturridge. And that’s my punt. The Club may well be playing a straight bat on this whole striker business, but they know that aside from managing the expectations of the angry mob supporters, Defoe and Adebayor isn’t all that much to get excited about. It doesn’t obviously smack of Champions League qualification.

Berbatov anyone?

What becomes of the broken hearted? See you at close of play. BIOYC!

The mountino deal was never going to happen red herring if he couldn’t conclude deal last night won’t be done in jan. If he wants to get him finish the deal this wkend we will pay the fee and in jan if he passes a medical deal done but levy won’t that moneys in his account and won’t be seen again ! Levy out !

I think AVB had alot to do with the dismantling of the squad.
I really am pleased with all our signings particularly those with success in the Premiership behind them. Dempsey may well have been a last gasp idea but he will hopefully stop Adebeyor pissing about.
That said not having a playmaker in the middle of the park is a balls up…should have been an earlier signing or a Plan B. All the eggs in one basket wont do..omletes dont play fuckin football.

      eggsactly!

But Levy he was taking the piss wasnt he? just like he did before with three 30 million offers on strikers the last day and now this yoke yesterday about Moutinho and Llorente.

Not to mention that Jenas and Bentley are still here. Still! How long are their contracts ffs!?!?

Our main aim this season is to repeat (likely) or improve (difficult) on our league position of last season, hence we have done good ‘Premier League’ business, in Sigi, Jimmy ‘five’ Dembele’s, Ade, and Clint ‘Make my Day’ Dempsey, plus two top, top, International captains to improve defensively. DOn’t forget, Caulker is back with a season of decent EPL performances.

If we steady the ship and rise above the main challengers for 4th, who haven’t really improved, or started well (Arse, Pool, Geordies) then players like Moutihno, Damaio, and Llorente will be more convinced of our standing. At the moment it’s only the smooth charms of AVB that turn their heads, but if we could also offer CL footie then the deals will happen. Image rights are a big part of any players package these days, and this will always lose value if they are not strutting their stuff on the main stage o European football. Personally I think the Moutihno deal was complicated by the third party elements, but if this is sortede before January I expect to see him in Lilywhite next window.

It’s all good so far, except two very puzzling things: Jermaine Defoe being signed up for anopther 3 years of head down, turn, right foot shot, and Bentley, Bentley, where the F***k is Bentley?

    • Yachtsman says:

Why not give the Jenas/Bentley situation a rest. If no one out there wants them, what are we to do? March them to a cliff and push them off? Make ’em walk the plank?

      • Ronnie Wolman says:

Our plan is probably to loan them out and maybe get a bite later
Bentley can do one thing and that is cross the ball

      • nobby nobbs says:

I dont think the players have any will to play for us and one has no ability. I find it infuriatng when we have such tight purse strings at THFC.

Lennon has signed a new contract. til 2016
