€9M Deal On The Cards (Don’t Worry, It’s Not Chamakh)

Good morning.

Italian media tuttomercatoweb.com lead the way this morning confirming some of the more informed mumbles over here that we’re in for Jack Butland. The Birmingham boy would be great addition. Brad undoubtedly has a part to play but the question marks over just how suited he is to André Villas-Boas’ brave new world are beginning to loom.

It would be a crying shame if Gomes’ career were parked in a cul de sac with us. But what can be done? With the new boss’s clear intention to rotate (opposed to the swiveling of his predecessor) it is hopefully the case that we see him in the Europa. At this rate it could be up front, which might be less surreal an idea than you think as if memory serves me well he started out as a striker. The circle of life, eh?

The Marouane Chamakh on loan piece by our old friend John Cross isn’t worth the steam off our collective effluence.  This smacks to me of a circulation issue. Clearly his wife’s knickers are too tight and it’s affecting the amount of oxygen getting to his brain.

Elsewhere, it is being rumoured on the excellent COYS that some bloke called Emmanuel Adebayor was spotted in The Plough public house in Cuffley where he was reported to be threatening …to play against West Brom.

I’m a bit bemused by all the talk of Le Arse about to sign Sahin and Kaka being offered to Manure.

Surely they are two decent replacements for the Rat? And surely we are in ‘pole position’ to make Real give us first dibs on those players if they are breaking our balls over the Rat price?

Maybe they’re not what AVB is looking for? But considering the eurotrash we are being linked with (for what that idle gossip is worth) I think we’d be better off going for either one of them. Kaka might be the wrong side of his peak but I expect Levy would be happy with a surge on shirt sales if nothing else?

Ive been talking about that for a week. Its fallen on deaf ears.

As far as I understand it, Sahin no like chicken badge and as for Kaka, his wages are said to be about €8m a year.

      • Clarkspur says:

Yeah I read that Sahin wanted to stay to fight for a place but surely a word in his ear from Jose about the benefits of a year-long loan as his place is on the bench at Real might help move it along?

As for Kaka, the Euro is so weak at the moment that £100K a week isn’t far from €8M a year. Sign a 3 year deal and then flog him after 2 if he’s not up for the job.

Kaka’s wonga is astronomical. Real want 25m, but his wage’s are 10m per season, and he’s not playing well right now. Llorente has said oenly he want’s to go to Italy and Juventus. As for Sahin, apparently he’s way off the mark fitness wise and about 6 months way from regaining the kind of impact Jose’s expecting-this was according to Talksport’s Spanish ‘Expert’, who then added that he’d struggle even more in the prem?

The original 39 Steps was on the other day. Hannay to Mr. Memory: “What is the distance from Winnipeg to Montreal?” Mr. Memory:A gentleman from Canada. You are very welcome Sir.” “Winnipeg, third city of Canada, capital of Manitoba is 1424 miles from Montreal. Am I right,Sir”? Some of the Scottish side of my family,(who changed their name from Cowe to Cowie) emigrated to Canada just before or after the War,I’m not sure which. And they were Hibernian and Spurs fans. But I vaguely remember one of them coming to visit us round about 1965 and he still had a Scottish accent, absolutely loaded (God knows what he did)and wanted to know if I supported “The Lillywhites”. So I guess there was still a strong family tie. Unfortunately none of the money rubbed off onto us. However Spurs Canada has definitely given me a motive to do a bit more research and try and trace what happened to them. Who knows, might be bigger will.

people like kaka and sahin are well and good but the £120,000+ a week and/or not being in Cl usually knock these on the head

  • StevieQman says:

and we`re in for Adam J from City as well…plus any other player who is not wanted by the top 4/5 teams..why the hell didn`t we bag Ba whilst the buy out clause was in effect???
