Moutinho In London, Levy Negotiating With Bilbao …Busy Busy Busy

Good afternoon.

We play Newcastle United tomorrow teatime and the transfer window doesn’t close until the 31st of the month but judging by snippets from a good many sources last night and this morning we could still be in for more shocks than Fabrice Muamba got at The Lane.

The chairman I am told was in talks yesterday with Bilbao for the services of Fernando Llorente who according to The Daily Mail has a £28.2m buy-out clause in his contract.  The 27-year-old would be just the ticket having burst the onion sack 30 times from 53 appearances.

Moutinho is rumoured to be in London. We are based in London. Could these two seemingly innocent facts be part of something bigger, more sinister than sheer coincidence?

And lastly a tidbit for the anxious and desperate to scream for Levy & Co.’s blood yet again …Jamie Redknapp has revealed in the same paper…

My dad, Harry, was driving the Tottenham chairman mad trying to get them to buy this boy [Santi Cazorla]: he is top class, a special footballer. He’s another Cesc Fabregas, a lovely slider of a through ball who will create chances.

I sympathise with Dan Levy – nearly £30m on Llorente, wtf? Even a couple of years ago a player of his calibre would have been half that price.

I’m not saying he’s shit, but £30m??? You couldn’t 100% rule out the chance of him being the next Pav could you?

100% agree with this, I think Llorente is a smokescreen for someone else that’s been off the radar, can’t work out who though….

Comparing Llorente to Pav is like comparing Reo-Coker to Xavi!

    • Flipper says:

I agree, way too much for him, and I really just can’t see it being true. Levy paying that much for a 27 year old…nah, he’d have to feel he was a player who could pretty much guarantee CL qualification over the next 2-3 years to justify that price tag with little resale value.

      Sure, It’s a big fee for a 27/28 year old and 20
million euro is big money for a (Lloris) keeper.
We have, will have, the Modric money to replace him.
Mouthino? So we are talking about an additional
£45 million! These sort of deals are normally
done over a 24-36 month period. We know they don’t
come with guarantees but this level of playeralong
with our fantastic current crop, I,m pretty sure
would take us to the next level. Now and over the
next few seasons, and therefore end up becoming a
      great investment!

Ps. Leave the tasteless jokes to Jimmy Carr HH!

That Muamba comment won’t go down well…

  • @spursnewsforum says:

Apparently the Levy loves Llorente, to the point of wanting to have the Spaniards children. £28m is alot of money but this needs to be done.

We finished in the top 4 without Luka before, when he broke his leg. No messing about this time, this is do or die time, we need a world class striker, go get him Dan!
