Good evening.
So what we have here is more fuel to an already unlit fire, some might argue. But Jermain Defoe/and or representatives of said person have been in speaks with Sunderland. Is it done? Who knows? I dread to imagine what figure Levy &Co might have in mind for a very effective penalty box striker but a man that lacks so very much elsewhere in his game.
On paper you’d snap up a Jermain Defoe. Of course you would. He scores goals. But upon even the most casual scrutiny he not only fails to fit the Andrè Villas-Boas template, but he couldn’t regularly sustain a first team place under his all time fan manager.
I won’t be as rude as to dig out Jermain here, as he’s done too many good things for us. But should he ‘hang on in’ then he’s risking the accusation of trading on his ‘He’s a Yiddo’ reputation. Should he move, he’ll get more game time and more goals.
Re-visiting an old rumour – Remy is absolutely for sale at Marseille. They are desperate to reduce their wage bill and at least one more star player needs to go. If Remy doesn’t, they will sell Andre Ayew.
I don’t know if Remy was just a HR link, but he’s defintely worth the sort of money Marseille want, which would be 15m.
I like the look of him, gather he can play as main man or support striker too so perfect for the old 433.
Yes pls.
.
Me too, good shout marsayid, good headerer that lad.
I must be one of the few that doesn’t rate Remy. We need a proper Striker, one that can lead the line, strong, and skillfull, don’t think Remy is any of these, in a poor french league too.
“a proper striker” – you sound like HR !! “He’s a proper striker, he is. You’d have him in your side. Triffic !!”
Remy wouldn’t be your main striker, but playing off Ade or Carroll he’d indeed be triffic.
Sorry, did i hurt your feelings for not agreeing with you? :-p
Watched him play against the Goons, and you’d hardly say he was a ‘top-top’ player or even ‘Triffic’, but that was only two games against Prem opposition, so it’s hard to judge him overall.
A proper striker; strong and skillful – a leader of lines?
Good call indeed – now if only you’d suggested one.
If Carrol ends up anywhere near WHL and Ade at ‘pool instead I will be burning a DL effigy outside Mr Byrites Oxford street.
To add to this arent city being quoted 26mill or so for agger????
He won’t go he’s a yiddo
Are you working Felching’s shift? :-D :daumen:
If the coaching staff feel that coulibaly could step into Defoe’s shoes then sell him and get in Ade and another forward. Not sure about Damiao, was at wembley today and didn’t really see what the fuss is all about, was outmuscled and out headed by the Mexican guy and I thought that and his finishing was what he’s known for. The boy Oscar looks like a bullet dodged as well, I’ve seen more meat on a butchers pencil. Neymar really is that good though. Sorry for the Brazil analysis.
Agree about Damiao. Thought Hulk looked the biz tho…
I’d love to see Coulibaly get a run in the first team and was thinking the same as you in regards Damiao, but I have a bad feeling about getting Ade on a contract for all the reasons that have been said many times.Sturridge is the best option we have imo but it still doesn’t feel great,
What ever happened to links with players like doumbia and moussa sow? Surely they could do a job for us?
Moussa is gone. Doumbia tho, yes please
What has lif come to when the words “Sturridge is our best option” are not greeted with riidcule.
I saw an awful lot of very expensive Brazilian bullets, all of them over-priced and thankfully out of our price range.
Betting we going to do a spain, agree wit hh defoe gave his all to get us goals, greedy or not.How much leandro worth, since this morning. Delighted to see OSCAR do nothing in the final. Feel sorry Sandro, played his heart out, only he will need three weeks off
