Good morning.
Well the Rafa to HSV story was as you read here and seemingly only here rubbish. More proof that the hysteria employed during transfer windows only rivals the lack of thought.
So West Brom indoors it is. If you cast your eye down the Baggies squad you see a who’s who of journeymen and nearly men. Their ability to do more than survive is explained when you know their last manager was Roy Hodgson and their current on Steve Clarke. Two very traditional English football managers and Clarke is clearly planning on upholding the principles of discipline and team work.
I believe we’re a superior match tactically and our lot can leave them reelling. There’s gulf in talent.
West Brom beat Liverpool 3-0 last week but without playing down the value of that I am convinced that had as much to do with Liverpool’s performance as it did West Brom’s. I have to add this isn’t me reading too much into the unwatchable game against Hearts last night, either – that side only featured three regular first team picks for the Scousers. Rodgers is clearly having ‘issues’ trying to convey his ‘system’ to his players.
Talk is cheap but I was buoyed by Villas Boas’ delivery in his presser yesterday. This is a home game and despite the final score at Sid James Park we played some good football. My point is that our boss (on the strength of just one Premier League game) appears to have had fewer communication problems.
I think that a pushing, fast paced 433 with Adebayor a little forward of the top three essentially suits our personnel. And we shouldn’t, at home be afraid of implementing this with attacking players.
You could argue that with Bale, Gylfi, Ade and Rafa I’ve over egged the pudding fielding four goalscorers. But my argument is why play Jake or ***** or Bentley when they have so little to offer? Is it just so you can say ‘it looks more balanced?’ Mmnn. Why?
The real issue here is the absence of a midfield general cum play-maker. That certain someone to add the colour. The only intelligent thing to do is add as much creativity as you can elsewhere, surely? Neither Livermore, ***** or Bentley are going to provide that spark. They are at best three man who might put in a full shift.
We’re at home and we’re not a shower of Cheatski bus parkers. So let’s play to our strengths. We have an interesting system under Villas Boas, we won’t be reckless, we’ll be aggressive. We’ll welcome them into The Lane and we’ll tear ’em apart.
Predictions? My conservative thought is 2-1. But if we get into the groove I can see us scoring three or four.

H, stop with the asterixing of Jenas’ name will ya?! You are being just as childish as all the wonker hosts and pundits on TalkSHITE who start every discussion concerning AVB by taking the piss coz he has a gravely voice. You are not caste from the the same mold as those toscas are you?
I completely agree HH, what’s ***** ever done to you? ***** is a great person and an even better player :shifty: and quite possibly ***** is our secret weapon this year, so leave off ***** or you will have the rest of the ***** appreciation society on your back as well….In ***** we trust..
I started the ***** thing, and for every time it’s used, I want a pound.
Alright?
ok just post your credit card details and ….
I’d just like him gone. Wages thief. Sorry if that offends.
Doesn’t offend me in the slightest.
Okay, so he is not and never has been great but come on man all that ***** BS is just sooooooooo childish. Be a man not a tabloid tart and rise above your baser instincts ;-)
He used to have more letters in his name but as it got progresivly more offensive to use his name more and more *’s replaced letters. It may seem childish from the outside but ner ner na ner ner!
HH’s singularity is one of the reasons we come here bro.
I watched a you tube selection of clips of xxxxx, it just shows you how that can make any player look like Maradona.
He needs a fresh challenge and move on, been with us too long and has achieved very little.
J**** is just a bit of an annoyance for a lot of us. He should of been moved on by now and what was indifference has bloomed into full blown anger at the fact he’s still at the club.
Doesn’t contribute to the squad, we just pay him to be injured. And when he’s not injured he plays a really dull and un-inspiring game.
I don’t wish him dead. I just want him to either improve or leave. And I can only imagine him doing the latter.
***** encapsulates everything that riles about the modern player.
All the bling, none of the substance. All the mouth, none of the trahsers.
I don’t care about any of that stuff, he just isn’t very good.
In fact, he’s always struck me as a bit of a sweet boy really, would make a very attentive shop assistant at Dixons.
Top Man – wouldn’t be quite good enough to know his Dolby from his Surround Sound in Dixons….
if you had ur way you would have kept bassong and started him, gomes and bentley why,,becauswe aaww there great people, get a grip. :-p
Ru John Cross of the Gaily Mirror by any chance
i hate that geezer, a tool
I’ve never done the ** shite,I’ll always be greatfull for the third goal in our 4-4 win at the shithouse.Probably my happiest night in Tottenham fannery
I like the look of that but i’d swap bale with vdv as he has more energy and will offer us more going backwards, bioymfbc!!
5-2 to Spurs. Although apart from Defoe, the lack of good options off the bench is smarting. Lets hope it’s looking even slightly better by september 1st.
Ade won’t start. Not match fit.
Not meaning to sound Tom Petty but Steve Clarke is actually a jock, HH.
aye, that he is,i don’t hate him or the baggies but hope they get a good thumping at the lane, they will work hard though and know what they are doing the baggies
But he’s very English in… er … his er… his choice of socks are textbook English. No two ways about it. Yes. probably.
