Bromance At Brunton Park

Good morning.

The morning after the night before and a job well done. There’s only one piece of footage of highlights of the goals only. It’s shockingly poor and it is here.

I know close to nothing other than the score and that it’s been alleged that a Carlisle fan lost his mind and decided to take on stewards, coppers and anyone else who fancied a piece of him.

Games like this need to be televised. It’s not complicated. The cameras are there, sell a stream for a fiver a pop, cut Carlisle in and everyone’s happy. What was infuriating was that Capital One and talkSPORT announced ‘a partnership’ yesterday afternoon and yet the station chose to cover the game that was on television. The lack of commercial awareness in relation to all this beggars belief.

There is a sniffy attitude about games like this and friendlies that I just don’t understand, I just don’t have any time for. I’m happy to watch our lot train, to be quite honest. Oh well.

And last up, there is a delicious rumour flying around that ***** may be off to Nottingham Forest. Let’s hope we get a grip this time and just let him walk. If they are prepared to re-home him for free, then we’ll have had a touch.

5live commentators really seemed to want us to lose or at least let Carlisle go a couple of goals ahead first – don’t think I’ve ever heard such a low key announcement of a goal when we scored the first.

Shame Lloris didn’t play but good to see fringe players and youth seeing us through. Sigi got a goal which may give him a bit of confidence, good delivery for the first goal too.

    Job done

Travelled up. Vert looks a better left back than he does a CB – excellent game and needs to be our captain. Dawson looked fully fit and had a good game. Townsend looks good competition for Bale scoring an excellent individual goal.
Second half showed the gulf between the teams with us almost playing keep ball at times.
Oh, and the bit about the Carlisle fan losing it is correct.

J**** officially lost in a forest according to sky sports.

    Yay!!

Pop the champagne, Jesus has been farmed out…….for a month!

AVB’s only lost one game as manager, if he beats Manure I’ll be fully behind the brave new system and as long as Rooney doesn’t come back, Cleverly find his shooting boots and Van Pervert keep scoring we’ll be fine…

    2-3 to Spurs…

    Glory glory!

2-3 to spurs?? lol. Who is going to score 3 goals for us then? We’ve struggled to score one goal in most games and much weaker opposition. Defoe is unlikely to score against ManU, they will snuff him out.

      • Poshspur says:

Defoe, he scored a great overhead against them once!
Then Bale and Vertonghen to score.
        VP brace.

        Top game…you should watch it!

Sorry to be pessimistic but we ain’t gonna get sweet f*ck all up there.

        • essexian76 says:

Can’t have been Defoe as he’s only a flat track bully and habitual ‘Love Rat’- JD score against Utd? You’re ‘avin’ a larf!

Ade has to play.Hopefully he is fit.
TBH we need to attack United not wait for them to destroy us.

It’ll be interesting to see if AVB goes into the game with a positive attitude. Last season when he first took over at Chelsea, they played Utd off the park at times-only to lose by more luck than judgement. When we’ve gone up there under ‘Arry-we may as well have just given them the points as I was never convinced, that our manager really received in himself of the team to get anything…here’s hopping anyway!

        • essexian76 says:

          ‘Believed’ in himself I meant

        • essexian76 says:

          ‘Hopping’

        • Billy Legit says:

          @Ronnie Wolman

We’ve tried the “attack United not wait for them to destroy us” in the past and all it seems to do is make them angry- like prodding a wasps nest with a snooker cue!

This is the one fixture every season i regard as a write off.
