This negatively spun claptrap used the quotes of a third party – in this case Didier Deschamps – to support what’s essentially a lie.
‘Hugo has not appreciated the statements of his coach. I am not going to create a problem that I do not need today. But if it were to happen then it would need some consideration. I do not want Hugo to find himself in this situation.’
Deschamps is clearly a bitter little horse meat sandwich muncher with an agenda. It is a cynical stunt on behalf of the Mail to use his comments to support a piece of fiction. Deschamps has since added:
‘He is one of the best three goalkeepers in the world. Hugo could play against any player in any league. Now, if he can help Tottenham to the next level, it could be a springboard towards a bigger club.’
The player Hugo himself has demonstrated a diplomacy to match Villas-Boas’. As per my last blog on this issue, it’s as plain as the nose on your face that the boss doesn’t want to be disrespectful to Brad. Hugo Lloris said yesterday:
‘I am a professional and I can put all this aside, I’m only and entirely focused on France. I’ve played enough matches in the past to be able to manage this.’
Articles like this are about as honest and truthful as Kevin Bond sat on SNN on transfer deadline night in a suit we paid for making snide digs about us now having four goalkeepers. Good luck with that media career, Kev, the last famous chauffeur I saw appear on TV was Henri Paul.

I sat and watched the whole he was a great player for us nonsense and it was laughable. I won’t sit here and proclaim to be whiter than white I’ve done my fair share of booing players, it Was all for nothing. All aimed in the wrong direction. Chris Armstrong baring the brunt of it. I’ve tried my hardest to defend tottenham fans when people say we’re all fickle, we boo at the drop of a hat and we’re never happy. And until a few years ago we had every right. BUT those who not only booed the team after 20 minutes or jeered jenas when he came on the other week was, for the first time ever, I’ve been embarrassed to follow tottenham. And I do follow tottenham home and away.
We have one of the greatest followings in the country maybe Europe, regardless of the fact weve barely won any silverware in the last 20 odd years WHL has always close to full capacity. There are so many teams that would bend over backwards for that kind of loyalty. Regardless that the club do, and they do use that loyalty against us we should never ever boo the boys that wear that glorious kit. It’s so counter productive it’s ridiculous.
I’ve had a season ticket for 18 years now, and we could finish 10th every year and I would still pay for my season ticket every season. Why ? Because it’s tottenham hotspur and that’s what we do. Regardless of what the other London teams do or win, we’re by far the best and they all know it
It broke my heart the other night when braga beat udinese to qualify for the champions league and went over to their 9 travelling fans. I know they earned it but so did we and i thought “What a waste of a champions league spot”. We take huge support all over europe and make for a terrific atmos anywhere, it just adds to the magic.
