Good morning.

The source is Caughtoffside.com and their suggestion is that Benoit Assou-Ekotto is wanted, enquiries made etc by Chelsea football club to us, Tottenham Hotsour football club about purchasing him for rumoured £10m.

Factors at play here are pretty straightforward.

Benny won much respect/sent shivers down a few spines with his public admission that football was just a job. Despite it being 2012, the world is still swimming with naive fans who like to see a bit badge kissing and actually believe the players remotely mean it.

Ashley Cole has reportedly been told that he won’t be getting a fat new contract and has as a response reportedly said he’ll pick up his boots and leave Second Hand Fridge when the window reopens in January.

But is this true?

Who knows.

Would it work? Well, I’d be surprised if Chelsea went for Benny. Yes, he’s Premiership house trained, but is he a typical Chelsea pick? I think not. He’s not solid enough, not uniform enough and I can see them seeing him as a bit flaky.

If we get offered £10m should we sell him to them? My first reaction is that I can’t see anyone else giving us anywhere near the same figure for him in this lifetime. Not a chance. My second reaction is that while I prefer Jan at left back, if we get an injury in one of the 27 competitions the boss wants us to participate fully in and win; then that £10m isn’t really going to help us too much.

What will happen then is Dawson gets wheeled out as the cash dissolves into the ether. So in conclusion it’s a thanks but no thanks from me.

I think we could do without Benny, as long as Thudd keeps his ‘fro. I hear he’s saving it until he scores a goal, so we should be good until summer, and then we can get Fellaini in.

I know the Chavs need most of our players to turn them into a decent team but, apart from anything else, you don’t sell to your rivals.

And even though they were 2 places behind us in a shambolic 2nd half of the season for us, I’d still consider them as nearly rivals.

That’s very charitable, I consider them as a second division team on borrowed time/money, rivals to Millwall, QPR and Charlton…..

I see a few peeps have Walker at RB. I’m wondering how long it will be before he gets benched? He keeps getting the wrong side of his marker and he can’t pass for shit of late. Great player on his day but he shouldn’t be allowed to keep having lapses in concentration. Seeing as we have a wealth of talent at the back maybe Kaboul could go to right back to give Walker a well earned rocket to get him back on track. Vertonghen, Kaboul and Caulker would give us quite a bit of aerial ability. Last time Kaboul played RB he did well. just sayin

Naughton is a right back. He can play on the left but he’s a right back. Everyone keeps saying Naughton is a left back, but he’s not.

Even if he was (which he isn’t) he isn’t as good as Benny.

A lot of people especially on MoTD, Talk Sport and Sky seem to only notice him when he loses concentration and makes an error. He’s easily top 5 in his position in the prem.

He’s not going anywhere. Caughtoffside.com? Known traders of bullshit in return for hits in return for advertisement revenue.

Also just to agree with everyone else Chelsea fans are a bunch of anti seministic racist scum bags. Seen it first hand, nasty bunch of toads.

I am for ZERO tolerance of racism.
