Bring On The Bubbles!

Good evening.

The old Bubble & Squeaks away in the Europa or the ‘Europen’ as ODM thinks it’s called. I guess there could be worse long term use side effects of continuous Centrum® Silver® Women 50+.

You can find more sportsbook review information here, but the Greeks are marginal favourites despite their last performance in the tournament and this should provide the opportunity for some value in several Tottenham markets so it’s a game worth casting your eye over.

I’d put Lloris right in there. If you read my analysis after the Yanited game and if you dared to play this week’s Hotspur’s Half Hour than you’ll know my position this week on Brad.

Our midfield ought to see Siggy, Thud and the boy Townsend step in and step up.Sandro needs a breather, Christ knows he’s earned one. I think the inclusion of Dembélé wouldn’t be pushing it. This is a tournament we want to continue to quietly go about our business in. The boss has the mission statement spot on, we want a cup, we want Champions League qualification.

In attack I’d like to see Dempsey Defoe and Adebayor all involved subject of course to all the usual fitness terms and conditions stuff.

Your thoughts on who we ought to field please.

It’s been on my mind, it’s my blog and I’ll do as I please so here goes: There’s a little girl ‘gone missing’ in England called April Jones. If you have any information that could help police trace missing 5yr old, April Jones, please phone the dedicated hotline on 0300 2000 333.

To the tune of “oh Ledley”:

    ‘Jan Vertonghen
    He plays for tottenham
    He’s better than vermaelen
    Jan Vertonghen’

    Whayathink?

I don’t want to see Walker, Vert or Defoe take the field tomorrow as the potential for injury far outweighs the rewards-Play Lloris by all means, and if the crowd get bored put on Gomes purely for his comedic value.

    • Ronnie Wolman says:

You are obviously cynical about the game.Im not.But a score draw will do.

      • essexian76 says:

This over the Villa game? give me PL 3pts anyday..i don’t want to risk our better players getting injured or knackered in a second-rate comp.

        • Ronnie Wolman says:

Over the Villa game?Is that a joke?
We have enough quality to get a draw away and win at home so whats the problem?

        • essexian76 says:

Fitness! Ronnie-blow me, did you see how shattered they were on Sunday? clearly not. But I’d have thought we had enough quality to beat Norwich and WBA as well. Villa will be a tough nut to crack, and fitness will come into it. Different if we can get an early goal, but if as I expect, it’s a park the bus game-we’ll need those legs in the 2nd half, mark my words

        • Ronnie Wolman says:

Im not talking about resting a few players,I agree with that, but the cynicism was deafening.
I care about us doing well even in the Europa. We can rest Vert I have no problem with that.Infact I would suggest it.
          But its more about attitude.

        • essexian76 says:

Ronnie as I said before-it wasn’t me who made it a 2nd rate comp-UEFA managed it all on their own. If there was actually some purpose to winning it-Kudos or financial gain-perhaps a CL slot-then I’d be up for it-but we’re surely aiming high-and this comp is just a drain on resources greatly needed for us to achieve CL football, which I’d have any-day over this poor substitute- Me cynical? perhaps-realistic-definitely

        • Ronnie Wolman says:

Rather see us in a good run in the Europa than going out in the first round in the CL
We need to build. Also there is some exposure with Europe watching.
Besides I think it puts oil in the tank if we do well and takes oil out when we dont. You can matvh that up with your resources side which is true too.
We are in desperate need for some good stuff

        • essexian76 says:

Yeah of course Middlesbrough and Fulham really benefited from getting to the final, as did Rangers, and why would we go out in the 1st round?, we’ve a better manager and better players than our previous team-so why not go for solid gold instead of cheap silver plate-that’ll tarnish the moment it dawns on us that we’ll be doing it again next season

        • Ronnie Wolman says:

We should go for gold but remember Michael Phelps,he didnt stop at one.

I think we could handle it
It would give us exposure and if our position is not bad in the league and we are winning in Europe it cant be bad for the window

        • LLL says:

We have absolutely no chance of ever winning the CL, no chance at all. So in as much as we actually do have the luxury of being ‘in it to win it’ here, we should go with that option.

Here’s the thing with resting players – if we do qualify for the CL next season we will have to field a strong team twice a week, no choice. The squad needs to get used to that. A few changes, yes, but not a wholesale switch.

        • essexian76 says:

So OK,lets just not bother with finishing 4th or better, let’s chase every tin pot, worthless piece of silverwear, and continually miss out on quality players who want CL football and the kudos that goes with it, not to mention the financial rewards..! Oh, but of course we can say we won something I guess, as if that actually counts these days!

        • LLL says:

So you are arguing that every trophy is meaningless except the Champions League and that qualifying and competing and losing it is a far greater honour than winning anything? Are you Arsenal in disguise? ;-)

Just joking. But you know what I mean, surely? European players are a lot more likely to sign for you if you are in the Europa than if you finish 10th but win the FA Cup, but surely that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t want to win an FA Cup?

Like I said, what use is qualifying for the CL – assuming we do, which is far from guaranteed btw – if your squad can’t handle 2 games a week and has no experience of winning anything? By your reckoning, getting into the CL is the aim. I.e. when we actually play in it we should rest all our good players so that we might qualify for it again!!

  • Jbo says:

It’s a bit pants actually but I think there could be a song if we could find way to fit ‘Vertonghen’ and ‘better than vermaelen ‘into a song and nice continuity with Ledley/John terry song

  • kennyid says:

    Def no Ade it seems.

  • TriniSpurs says:

Loris, Walker, Caulker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Livermore, Dembele, Falque, Townsend, Siggy, Dempsey

Subs; Cudicini, Gallas, Defoe, Lennon, Bale, Obika
