Good evening.

Well done,I say. Well done for sabotaging what AVB is all about. Well done for thinking that being on what, £20k, £30k, £40k actually impresses anyone?! Let me my darlings tell you… You no mark schmucks you are loathed. Hated. You wear our bloody shirt and the only time you sweat is when your salary is at threat.

Well done for summoning up the spirit of that preseason in the Republic Of Ireland under Martin Jol. You must recall that one, eh, Tommy? The game against St Pats? The manager of the Radisson that refused you ‘more drink!’ that night as you ran about the hotel younger players thinking you were really cool, the night before the game chasing bottles of wine…?

I’m not happy and I will be ‘having a look.’

Meh. I’m not gonna lose sleep over this. We’ll get the points needed to qualify. Then we’ll see if we are serious about winning this trophy.

More interested in the Villa game to be honest. 3 points a must, with hopefully ade back to shake it up a little.

    COYS!

    • Hot_Spur says:

“We’ll get the points needed to qualify”?? Really? You sure about that? I bet you also thought we would win tonight.

      • tommy_puddle says:

Yeah I did think we’d win, and i’m sure you did too! But we didn’t so thats that. I had a pretty good nights sleep NOT worrying about it.

I do think we’ll qualify, yes i’m pretty sure.

Glass half full and all that…

Tommy, I did not see the game, but by the sounds of it it sounded like a playground game.

If we want to be part of the big boys then we have to give 100% effort for each game, would Man Utd players have done the same? The answer is no, the sooner our team start playing like winners then the better.

AVB is right, midweek games are something that we need to treat seriously, if not then say goodbye to any group stage champions league games.

Let’s all be winners all the time not just choose when it suits us.

      • LosLorenzo says:

“would Man Utd players have done the same?”

Well, their less-than-stellar performances in this same competition last year might suggest otherwise. Granted, that was against slightly stronger opposition than the Greeks, but all the same. ManU were woeful (at least by their own standards) in the Europa League last season.

      • SpursGator says:

And it’s not like we’ve never seen ManU blow cup games before. Southend anyone?

  • Thepin says:

Huddlestone has deceptive pace – he’s a lot slower than you think!

…and was it just me, or did I really see Lloris flap at a couple? Sacre bleu!

    • essexian76 says:

Flap?, thank God Brad didn’t do that-It’ll be all down to his age you know? The flap apart, perhaps there was also a moments hesitation for the goal? Nah, it couldn’t have been-could it?

    • BrizzleSpur says:

He did flap yes. Goal wasnt his fault though.

      • essexian76 says:

OK he wasn’t at fault then?, nothing to suggest he didn’t pause for a moment then-my TV must have been a little dodgy.note to self get to Curry’s pronto

      • Ronnie Wolman says:

One of the greatest performances by a goalkeeper ever was Joe Hart’s against Borussia.Infact it was the best ever in my opinion. The goal that Borussia scored though was not unsimilar to the one the greeks scored against us.
I am not comparing eprformances of the goalies but talking about Lloris flapping at one is diabolical.
The high line defence is not my favourite tactic.I dont like relying on the offside trap to defend.A quick forward or a bad linesman can kill you.Thats what happened to us.Not Lloris.

        • essexian76 says:

You clearly wasn’t at the opening game of the season before last-when that bastard stopped us running up a cricket score-but the outstanding display’s I’ve ever seen are 2 by Peter Shilton for Forest, 1 in a 1-3 home defeat, and another in a 1-0 LC cup win, when Ardiles scored the winner. The best ever was Jennings v Wolves at home in a 2-1 win, never seen better, although Clemence came pretty close a few times

        • essexian76 says:

Ronny, like I was saying before the game, it’s a nothing trophy-and we’ll be sorry to take it seriously as was evident yesterday-now the managers saying fatigue is taking it’s toll…WTF..I could’ve told him that-and if fatigue is evident on Sunday, I’ll be back and raging mad!

        • essexian76 says:

Hey, why is talking about Lloris flapping DIABOLICAL-he did flap or did I imagine it?
That was sarcastic response to you calling Brad a liability for absolutely no good reason, just presupposition on your part-I’m hoping Lloris will in time be the No1 at the Lane, and if you read his statement, he said it’s no problem waiting in line..like I said it wouldn’t or shouldn’t be a problem-but you continually berate Friedel for things he may or may not do, when he’s been the only consistent thus far!

  • essexian76 says:

Neither surprised nor bothered, thought Lloris looked a world beater..Still we’ve now got a few knackered players and no doubt a few more knocks-just what we needed for Sunday!

  • BrizzleSpur says:

That bloody Kyle Walker is starting to piss me off big time.
Is he actually a RB or what? He looks so uncomfortable in defence.

Lennon might as well of just stayed at home playing with his f**king eyebrows.

They didn’t play with any passion or pride tonight. AVB needs to crack the whip and get them taking their football seriously. At least the kids would of gone for it.
These guys are giving me the impression that they have better things to do with their Thursday night.

    Make ’em f**king walk home.

    • jerkinmahjurgen says:

lolol. It was quite crap to watch and we should’ve won but an away point in Europe isn’t so bad. And why are we blaming the players over management now? I just assume they were told to stand-off rather than press? And why not? Against a poor side lacking confidence and our pace on the break…. we should’ve seen the game out, maybe got a cushion, but when they finally made a pass in the final 3rd we didn’t deal with it. Don’t get me wrong, against a form side we could’ve conceded 3 or more but how can you be sure the players weren’t following ‘stand-off’ instructions? We seemed to get noticeably worse after making subs. Townsend was total rubbish, but my main gripe with the players was the constantly giving the ball away. Not like us, really. I’ll forgive the all if we get 6pts from the next two games.

      • BrizzleSpur says:

It just wasn’t what I wanted to see. They looked like they couldn’t be bothered. Plus, this Kyle Walker situation really is a cause for alarm. He’s the weak link in the back four and if I can see it so can every prem manager in the country.
It’s the danger of having a default player with very little competition.

So okay, a draw with Panathinaikos, a team no-one cares about, away, in the EL, a competition no-one cares about.
But I care because we were boring and un-inspired and that is NOT Spurs.

  • Andy says:

After reading the above comments its times like this that I appreciate living on the other side of the world where we get no Europa games to watch,

Roll on the Villa game. Townsend in for Lennon, Ade in for Defoe and Sandro back to boss the midfield.
