Good evening.
What becomes of the broken hearted? It would seem they end up supporting Tottenham Hoyspur.
The game took two turns for the worse before the kick off as the news broke that both the boy himself Gareth Bale and Mr Demblele were going to both out of action. On the Bale end of things I have to express a dismay. I know people who’ve had to miss funerals due to work commitments.
In my limited yet hugely valid experience of childbirth the father being there tends to use the, ‘I was there, wasn’t I?’ as some sort of a statement to reaffirm that he still cares and still adore a woman who they have long since begun to loathe and frankly see as un-adorable. Bale’s absence to me was just yet another example of modern football being far too interested in what footballers feel or care.
Am I blaming the defeat on Bale? Of course not. Am I using him as a whipping boy? Of course not. Just sayng it’s symptomatic of things. Things that aren’t good.
Huddlestone’s gifted but lethargic calling card is expired. Dempsey looks woefully shy of the mark. Walker wants melting down and turning into glue. The boss needs to have more faith in his plan and less in the players. Make substitutions sooner.
I’m off for a cold chicken sandwich and some crinkle cut chips. It’s the way I roll…
You must be joking. AVB spun the game on it’s head at half time. Even in the good days with ‘Arry, we all knew the tealady dealt bromide.
The first 45 felt like a team of strangers, especially at the back but second period, we had them pegged back and the ground was rocking.. no luck // finishing, sadly not. Nor Papa, nor Demblele, nor Parker.
We have trouble enjoying a lead.. putting a foot on the ball.. and they’re quick, intelligent scum. This is something to change and may yet require personnel.
But. We came back out and played football that could have sent them packing. In the end, Caulker learnt some lessons about life at the top today,, dear Bill is getting old,, Hugo is too special not to start.
As for Jan; outstanding to the point he eventually ran himself ragged but the take from Blondie was the stuff of dreams / Ledley at his best. He’s the most intelligent player out there and needs the armband. Every team needs a Captain.
I saw promise second half, from a group of players that’s been together 3 months second half. So yeah, they beat our reserves. I’ll take that over Wembley, ever time.
COYS.
Nice one.
A fuming ballbag here. Bales child had better be worth it and I agree with some guy above for me sigg is shigg. Im off to carry on sitting in the shed with my david gray CD on whilst watching next doors cat catch the sparrows my wife lure’s to the garden.
He/she is already having its ears done.
:shocked2:
I thought siggurdsson played fairly well today. To me he looks like he’s starting to grow into the team. It was the backline (apart from jan) that let us down today even before chelsea scored there were a lot of balls cleared straight to chelsea players. Would like to see naughton start at RB.
Jan also lets us down, primarily because when he plays at left back his roaming impulses get the better of him. Yes he is good going forwards, but anywhere across the back 4 your priority should be defending, and he doesn’t do nearly enough of it when he’s at LB.
and that makes walker what then?
Well, Walker should be out of the team at the moment in my opinion. Naughton deserves a crack at the spot.
He’s a central defender looking after the left back slot, FFS.
Once again you argue with me by making the exact same point??!
.
Sorry for the reprint but I appear to have got behind the conversation somewhat……….
The key player, for me, regarding that loss, was Gallas; when he headed a clearance from the far post for their 1st goal; behind for a corner or behind himself for a throw would have been preferable to dropping it at the middle edge of our penalty box. Also, his side-foot away from the edge of our 6 yard box would’ve been better placed anywhere but to the middle edge of the penalty box. Also, I wonder whether Verty, Caulky or even Walky would’ve been as slow to close down for the other. Also, was Gallas lucky not to be given handball for his goal? I’m still not sure but maybe I’m just picking on him.
Walker was made to look sillier than he actually is by a very sneaky shove in the back by a clever mata; can’t help wondering if this will encourage our Harry to lay into him some more, even though we looked well beaten by then, I suspect so.
I called it 0-2 so got the goal difference right but letting 4 in at home is a sign that something ain’t right at the back, and for me it’s more about Gallic gaffs than a pedestrian Walker. Verty & Caulky in the middle please and a new right-back or fit A&E asap.
We were beaten by a better squad, fair do’s, now crack on.
.
We bought Demps & Siggs because we couldn’t afford/attract anyone better and it shows.
Gallas was up against it today but Caulker looked far shakier to me. Torres seemed to have him in his pocket
You’re the idiot for writing a headline like that and posting it. Poor mate and not funny.
He was an idiot long before he wrote that headline
Rick,
I just wanted to personally single you out from all the idiots.
You’re an imbecile :daumen:
.
You’re the imbecile for writing a response to Ricks post like that and posting it. Poor mate and not funny.
I thought HH was ‘Mr Political Correctness 2012’ but clearly you’re the man, Mr Sturgeon. How you find the time to post on here when there are so many other causes crying out for your attention I do not know. I remember seeing a job as ‘female circumcision awareness officer’ for the London Borough of Newham advertised (in the Guardian of course) a few years ago – you did apply, didn’t you?
.
Cheshuntboy, read the 3rd post above mine then read mine again.
Incidentally, I went for that female circumcision awareness officer job but it turns out I’m not female.
Now I really am confused.
Who said what…to whom…and with what?
This is a moving feast.
:finn:
Tasty!
