Both Everton goals came from crosses put in from our left side. Blame has been apportioned to both Caulker and Gallas but Everton targetted our left flank and ultimately their persistence was rewarded. And why did Everton deploy this tactic? Because they knew the wandering Dempsey would offer absolutely no protection to Vetonghen.
Dempsey is average at best and a downright liability at worst. Time to ditch him (and maybe give Sigurdsson a run) before he costs us any more points.

On a more positive note, as has been pointed out ad nauseum over the last few days if games ended after 80 minutes we’d be top of the league — so we’re clearly doing something right. A little bit of fine-tuning and fourth is the least we’ll achieve this season.
