Slumped In Blood, Mr Platini

Good morning.

A grim start to proceedings then as we woke to the news that the inherently racist Lazio Ultras greeted Tottenham fans in the Drunken Ship public house Rome at about 0130hrs this morning in the traditional manner; battering and cutting them.

100 armed Ultras attacked leaving a current count of seven Spurs fans wounded and two stabbed.

The Italians baring Lazio colours wielded baseball bats, knuckledusters and knives. Some wore helmets. The police and fire service attended the scene and whilst arrests were made, many of the cowards involved fled. Italian media suggests that CCTV fotage of Campo de ‘Fiori is being examined.

To be honest I’d demand the game to be called off to emphasise to the powers that be that this sort of thing won’t be tolerated. I didn’t think my contempt for UEFA could increase but no, this has don’t it. There is too much money in the competition for excuses anymore. Fans must be protected.

The latest Spurs podcast is out now, folks!

The fawning resumes in earnest. Redknapp on TV not doing too well at keeping the cat in the bag about being contacted by QPR before Hughes was sacked.

    • East Stand says:

What does any of this have to do with Spurs? I’m sure there’s a Harry baiting blog you can find, let some steam off there perhaps?

Some of us don’t want to hear character assassinations of either our former or current manager. What is your point? H.R is QPR’s manager now, not ours. Chill out for goodness sake, it seems you have a problem with him being given the job despite them being winless and rooted to the bottom. Should they have kept Hughes then and decide that the unemployed Redknapp should be overlooked until anyone but H.R came along?

Ok, you hate Harry and you want the world to know… I couldn’t give a shit and i don’t know what your point is. I’m more interested in Tottenham not Harry or flippin’ QPR. Stop being sad!

  • Ronnie Wolman says:

Harry could well, and probably will do well at QPR but for me he was too much the used car salesman.
We may very well have the accountant now.
    Its not perfect.
Just like Levy has to find players that are value,he also has to find managers that are value. Its the way the club works now.Maybe later it will be different when the seats increase.
Its like looking for pearls in oysters.
    Its a crap shoot.
Its a problem for any idealist like me.

Pretty spot on Ronnie, AVB’s face fits as far as the board are concerned. I doubt that makes him un-sackable but he’s certainly
a ‘company man’ and not a maverick.

As i’ve said before, i support AVB and also rate Harry as more than the one dimensional thicket his detractors make him out to be. Yes he’s old-skool but his league record with us was not, and has not been equalled in what 25 years? If that still makes him nothing more than some sort of Arthur Daley chancer, what exactly does that say about our club?

If you don’t like him as a person (how anyone can even form an opinion of a human being without actually meeting them and spending time with them i don’t know) that’s one thing. However, to dismiss his achievements with us is clearly blinkered and a form of denial based on a dislike if the man and not rationality.

Spot on ,but some people would rather spout venom than admit they were wrong, if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have been 13 points clear in the first place. Still finished 4th only got knocked out of CL coz AVB got the sack then we employ him, incredible only bloody Tottenham

melcyid, are you feeling ok? we all watching shit football with a broken team It’s about the team for me. we had a team with Arry for you and many others here its about carsalesman vs accountant where dwarf is more to your middle class palette it’s not about the game or the club. perception is reality. AVBeee out!

    • East Stand says:

“for you and many others here its about carsalesman vs accountant where dwarf is more to your middle class palette it’s not about the game or the club” – My sentiments exactly.

I hope AVB gets it together but in the meantime, slagging either him off or Redknapp has nothing to do with anything.

And i also agree that the nastiness towards H.R is largely (although not exclusively) based on snobbery. It’s based on this idea that if somebody has a better education they they are going to automatically be more able in every situation in life. How on earth can football be an environment where you would have that opinion? You are either good at your job or not good at your job in any given situation, that’s all.
