Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a formal bid to sign Brazilian centre-back Gleison Bremer from Juventus, according to Italian outlet Tuttojuve.
The report, citing La Repubblica, claims Spurs are ready to submit a concrete offer for the defender in the coming days as they push to strengthen their backline.
Bremer first made his name in Italian football during a standout spell with Torino, where his commanding displays earned widespread attention from clubs across Europe.
The Brazilian arrived at Torino from Clube Atlético Mineiro in 2018 and went on to make 110 appearances across four seasons for the Granata before earning his move to Juventus.
Despite interest from multiple clubs, Bremer opted to stay in Turin and completed a transfer to Juventus in 2022, where he became a key part of their defensive structure.
His time at Juventus has not been entirely smooth, with a serious injury last season restricting him to just eight appearances and cutting his campaign short prematurely.
After working his way back to full fitness, Bremer established himself as an undisputed starter under Luciano Spalletti, featuring in 26 Serie A games and 31 appearances across all competitions this term.
Juventus must now comply with financial regulations, meaning the club will seriously consider offers for Bremer as part of efforts to raise funds through player sales this summer.
While the eight-cap Brazilian international holds a £50m release clause in his contract, Juventus are reportedly willing to consider offers below that figure, which represents a significant boost to Tottenham’s pursuit.
Spurs have already moved quickly in the transfer market this summer, completing deals for Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson ahead of the new campaign.
The north London club are also in ongoing discussions to sign Brighton and Hove Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke, further underlining their ambition to overhaul their defensive options.
Tottenham survived relegation only on the final day of last season and are determined to avoid a third successive 17th-place finish as the club looks to rebuild under fresh direction.
Questions remain over the logic of committing £50m to Bremer given his injury history and the likelihood he would not be a guaranteed starter should Van Hecke also complete his move to the club.
