Watching the decline of Gazza is upsetting.
There is a valid argument that he’s just another spoiled ex-celeb with an desire to self destruct, but isn’t it time someone stepped in and at least tried to put an end to the miserable mess his life appears to have become?
The list of frequently manic and unbalanced examples of his mental deterioration doesn’t make for happy reading. Where once folk would greet his antics with a wry smile and a roll of the eyes, now they invoke uncomfortable silences.
From watching footage of the man, listening to audio of him and reading eye witness reports in the newspapers, this is a guy who stopped living the dream a long time ago. What we have now is a man lost in a repetitive cycle of pain and sorrow.
Some folk like to indulge their bodies with excess occasionally. Some folk get the taste for excess and never let it desert them. Others just have demons they cannot shake without help. Prison is not the answer.
It’s time to help.

He was an Spurs icon and deserves professional help, we should try to look after our own in some way….
Gazza was my hero as a kid. But down the years I have lost so much respect for him. He has been given countless chances but unfortunately has not taken any of them. I think prison could do him so good and make him realise he needs to change. I have been lucky enough to meet the man a few times and you couldn’t meet a more pleasant guy. I prey he sorts himself out he has so much to offer. Tony Adams managed to do it. Unfortunately it’s only Gazza himself who can change it maybe prison is the kick up the arse he needs. And lets face it if you or me committed these crimes we would be banged up.

Gotta agree with most on here (and no doubt many more once the days is out) that unless Gazza himself cries for help then there isnt a damn thing anyone can do. Not sure he enjoys life all that much and if you cant see any way of changing that then its bad news
It is highly likely he will take his own life…..whether he knows he is doing it or not is the only real question.

I’m glad. he’s a hateful, disgusting, sectarian, wife-beating drug dealer. I’m sure all the well-wishers above would like him living next door to them. Maybe not.

You mean a slapper who were giving every tom dick and harry pleasure even when she was married to him? His downfall accelerated and destruction well and trully gathered momentum when he met and married to a woman who always known as a highest bidder gets low life..his so called blood sucking ex wife actually killed him.. In his hey day her and so called mates enjoyed the luxury villa he occupied in italy but as soon as he fell from grace not one remembered him..all those used him and dumped him should be hanged..
I used to live next door to Gazza, but he complained to the council about me, my birds and all me kids, the loud music, dunkenness etc. The council kicked us out and now we all live in a B+B.
IMO sorry, but it’s not for me to help him out. I agree he needs it but it’s far beyond my abilities or resources.
DoubleA and Melrose – I’m not wishing to have a go at you 2, but I’m looking forward to the results of your hard work. It’s easy to come on here and say he needs assistance or have a go at someone else who might have a different view. That is, as long as you are at the front of the queue to help.
