I’m not sure I enjoyed that.

Fifteen minutes of public humiliation followed by having to watch a loved one emerge from a coma.

It gives me no pleasure to refer to my last blog and mumble under my breath, I told you so. This is a territory usually occupied by w*ankers. But the reality is, whatever Arry’s tactical intentions were or were not, the weakest element in the equation was undoubtedly Tottenham’s defense.

Here are my ratings. Tell me yours.

Gomes 2

Was it a penalty? Yes it was. Daft challenge. Amateur night from the Octopus.

Hutton 3

Looked unfit. Off the pace and … Hungover?

Gallas 3

I overlooked his murky past as he was a top notch footballer. I was done. Anonymous. Again.

Bassong 3

Another Invisible Man. Not the required standard.

A&E 5

He did little wrong, he was simply outplayed.

Azza Blud 6

A game where duff crosses cost the most. He’s not on form.

Jenas 6

Not a bad shift. I may be coming close to giving him a break.

Huddlestone 4

King of the ball watchers.

Bale 10

He scores 3 when we’re 4-0 down. Bar turning water into wine, what more could he have done?

Modders – beyond me why he was the one to come off. Should have been Hudd.

Crouch 4

Just didn’t achieve anything.

Palacios 5

Efficient but no huge impact

Keane 5

Another not very super sub.

Cudicini 6

What a horrible game to be hurled into.

The main problem I think we have is the centre of defence. Too much swapping about. Most of it has been forced due to injuries. When they are all fit I’d go with Dawes and Bass. I thought they did pretty well last season and they have plenty of mileage in them. King and the others only come in if one of them is injured. I might be tempted to make Kaboul right back as he has impressed me in that position. I’d stick with BAE as he seems to have developed a good understanding with Bale-Stud.
There you go that’s the case for the defence…..

(2nd half) Jenas came through aswell as Lennon they really showed there hustle in the end, Crouch didnt have a sniff but hes not a lone striker 10 men after 8 mins will do that to you. Carlo i felt sorry for as it was a nasty nasty game to come into but hes not diving to save.Is Pletikosa bad ? because in the Arsenal game i cant think of him doing anything appallingly bad that cant be blamed on bad defending or not saving a penalty.
Hutton wasnt awful in the second half but first half oh dear
Bale is Magic and i wish pundits would stop saying he is leaving he really really isnt, hes a clever bloke and he plays not for money thats what sets him aside from other wordclass younger players
    Thank F%$k for Gareth Bale

We need a real 2nd goaltender, Cudicini is absolute shit…Thank fuck for that boy Bale…he is a man among mostly worthless overpaid statues, i love that welshman. If and when Lennon gets back to true form, we will be able to tear teams apart using our speed and the width that speed creates on the wings, even if we don’t have a quality striker.

What is Crouch’s conversion rate? For every 1 he scores he misses 10! It’s just not acceptable for a “world class striker”. Yes, he works hard at times but he just misses too many chances. The game may have been very different if he had put that sitter away in the 1st half!

So far in our Champions League campaign we’ve scored 4 goals with 11 men.

But we’ve scored 5 goals with only 10 men.

Maybe a tactical re-think is on the cards.
I say we should start with 8 men against Everton, then once we go 3-0 up, take a couple more off to see the game out.
