I’m not sure I enjoyed that.

Fifteen minutes of public humiliation followed by having to watch a loved one emerge from a coma.

It gives me no pleasure to refer to my last blog and mumble under my breath, I told you so. This is a territory usually occupied by w*ankers. But the reality is, whatever Arry’s tactical intentions were or were not, the weakest element in the equation was undoubtedly Tottenham’s defense.

Here are my ratings. Tell me yours.

Gomes 2

Was it a penalty? Yes it was. Daft challenge. Amateur night from the Octopus.

Hutton 3

Looked unfit. Off the pace and … Hungover?

Gallas 3

I overlooked his murky past as he was a top notch footballer. I was done. Anonymous. Again.

Bassong 3

Another Invisible Man. Not the required standard.

A&E 5

He did little wrong, he was simply outplayed.

Azza Blud 6

A game where duff crosses cost the most. He’s not on form.

Jenas 6

Not a bad shift. I may be coming close to giving him a break.

Huddlestone 4

King of the ball watchers.

Bale 10

He scores 3 when we’re 4-0 down. Bar turning water into wine, what more could he have done?

Modders – beyond me why he was the one to come off. Should have been Hudd.

Crouch 4

Just didn’t achieve anything.

Palacios 5

Efficient but no huge impact

Keane 5

Another not very super sub.

Cudicini 6

What a horrible game to be hurled into.

I just have to say something about the current stories about Bale, as I find this “journalism” really quite diabolical.

So Bale scores three in a European game and suddenly his club are “fighting” to keep hold of him?

Despite a glaring lack of evidence to support the hypothesis that “it’s only a matter of time before he’s off to a so called bigger club”, the player and manager have both had to go on record to quell this rumour.

Talk about unsettling a perfectly happy player. Bale wants to stay. Harry is delighted with him. And Spurs are currently playing at the highest level. What more could he want?

Is Bale supposed to jump at a hypothetical chance to join Man United, like Berba and Carrick? Those moves couldn’t exactly be described as a success now, could they? Then you’ve got Rooney barking about how the Reds have lost their ambition. I ask you again, why would Mr. Bale’s head be turned in light of these facts?

Preposterous. Predictably biased “reporting” from the lazy English rags. It’s laughable really in that it’s so spectacularly pathetic.

      Well said.

Woke up with a headache and it was only added to by the barrage of absolute crap online.

There is a significant drop in football traffic online. My belief is that people are widespread naffed off with a stream of absolute bollards.

The Rooney thing is another nail in that particular coffin. The press were so starved they went ballistic on the story like they were on auto pilot.

I would guarantee, take money, vast sums of money that 95% plus of folk using ‘Rooney’ in headline in the last week haven’t got a fecking clue about football and last week were writing about oven cleaning products. Ben Shepard.

With any luck this idiocy continues, Keane scores and Celtic come in with an eye-watering megabid.

The Bale headlines are typical of the lazy and unimaginative and also demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the manner in which the club is developing under Sir Daniel and ‘arry, his trusty sidekick.

At the moment we need a couple of top class players to complete the squad, why on earth would we sell a player who is at present the best left sided attacking midfielder in the game, and is inside our wage structure? The best use of Bale off the pitch is as a draw for others to come play with him and DVD and Modric, Lennon et al……be a part of what’s going on.

  • Billy the Yid says:

Thought that was a bit harsh on Gomes yeah was a penalty didnt think he should have got sent off the bloke ran straight into him. A&E was asleep at the time. Also sorry but cudicinis best days have gone Gomes would have saved the 3rd & maybe the 4th goals

  • Burnsy Portugal says:

Worst player on the pitch was Crouch – how he missed that back post header is beyond me. Actually it may have been Gallas – pure shite.

    Gomes – 1 (Yellow???)
    Hutton – 5
    Gallas – 1
Bassong – 6 Improved dramatically after 1st 20 mins, made some crucial blocks.
    A&E – 3 Either fantastic or pants
    Bale – 9
Jenas – 6 Another game of not being the worst
Thudd – 2 Awful – shat his pants
Modric – 5 Poor wee Luca
Lennon – 6 Great goal assist and 1 super back post cross
Crouch – 0.5 Worst game he has ever had for us

  • Block 39 says:

Only just back from Milan, so I’m now catching up with the comments. Yes our defence looked poor but not one single comment that Inter were brilliant in that 1st half and most defences would have struggled with their movement.
