Prematch Prattle Yanited Away

Good morning my dears.

It’s been a very long time since Spurs won at Old Trafford. In fact some of the very fresh faced amongst you weren’t even born.

It’s a crumb of comfort that we frequently play some of our brightest football against Manure, but all too frequently walk away pointless.

The set up isn’t a complicated one. We are seemingly incapable of scoring via our strikers. My fear is that we don’t have a more sophisticated plan than knock downs from 3MP. If that is Arry’s strategy then…

Hernandez is rapidly entering territory whereby folk will be calling him free-scoring. The rat faced Bulgarian’s form has improved. whether the little rodent can ‘do it’ against us will itself be the cause of at least four and and half thousand Saturday night headlines.

Let’s have a look at the betting eyecatchers…

Bale and Crouch seem long prices for anytime goalscorer. 4/1 and 3/1 respectively. Long shot of long shots – Spurs to win with a long shot 17/2. Cautiously optimistic would describe an away win by the margin of just one goal and that vends at 11/2 which suddenly looks like a sensible place to head for.

So, we are all agreed then ?
We havent got a chance, beat before we even start, waste of time even turning up.

Thats ok, will take wife out for dinner instead of watching it on tv. That way will probably get a more pleasant evening.

Would you rather we were playing against Stoke?

No matter how difficult we make it for ourselves against this lot, it’s games like these that mean the most to us fans because we’re not expected to do well against them.

Playing against the likes of Stoke, where we’re expected to rip them to pieces yet struggle against an overly physical, aggressive and quite organised team is more difficult for me to watch. We win against Manure tomorrow and they’ll say they had injuries. Whatever, I’ll take all 3 points – whether we deserve it or otherwise.

Surely we can’t pick and choose not to watch this match as fans, just because we’ve not done very well against them in the reecent past?

Take the missus out for a shopping spree before the gamem then take the missus for a late dinner afterwards – perhaps to celebrate, perhaps to commiserate. I’m sure she’ll understand. But even if we lose (unless we’re at the end of an almighty thrashing and didn’t even bother to bring a gameplan, a belief) then we should enjoy this day, enjoy this game.

Have fun. I’ll try and watch it on telly somewhere. Hope Mrs. Trembly doesn’t mind too much.

You are, with all due respect missing the point. Its not the thought of losing to The Mottley Utd, or the type of football, we or they’re playing. Its the fact that no matter how well we play,or badly they play, they will win, by hook-or-crook they will get every decision, every dubious pen for given, and every nailed on pen against not given.

Perhaps I’m not fatalist or paranoid enough to be a pwopa Yid then?

There’s always a chance, however slight, that the footballing gods don’t accept the sacrificial lamb ole red nose offers up.

Big big game this, imo we need to treat it as a one off.
With the way the other fixtures are, lose and the “top 4” will have a 5 point gap on us if results go as expected.
I know we’re only a 3rd of the way into the season, but picking up 5 points on any of them will be tough, seeing as we will have to play Arse x2 Cheatski x2 and the two mancs x1

Man ure aren’t as good as Inter, with the right mind set and the right application in the first 15 mins, we can do this

    • Jerard says:

Lets rather be positive – a win here could push us up to third on our own, and that would really signal our intent.

  • WelshSpur says:

I really think we can do it. What has happened in the past is exactly that – in the past. I believe we can do it and the boys do as well. Lets show our support and show that red nosed tw@t we mean business! COYS!!!!

  • kenny says:

We put the Chelski hoodoo to bed there a while back, bout time we do the same with this record at old trafford.
We have to win sometime up there………..dont we…..?
