Afternoon ladies.

Giveaway time and this rather nice. When Football Was Football is a cracking book.  It is crammed with wonderful images many of which were new to me, along with excellently researched editorial content.

All of this is no surprise of course as the author is Adam Powley a man who’s name will be known to many of you having been involved in many eye catching Tottenham books over the years.

To win a copy simply  click on the book cover below and then mail me the names of these three players to theboyhotspur@harry-hotspur.com good luck!

    Chaps (and especially you Hazza),

I’ve read some so-called professional articles this morning about Bale. Some are of the opinion that epl sides can cope with him and that these wonder performances against inter were because of benitez’s poor tactics. Whilst there is a shred of truth in that it’s only a shred.

It got me a-thinkin’ about our set up.

It’s a shame that Lennon hasn’t hit top form yet. Because from the start of the season I was really looking forward to us going at teams from both sides. Bale is exciting, but it was the prospect of him AND Lennon working the flanks that was appealing. Teams can’t double up on both sides and even if they attempt it – out threat down the middle via the like of VDV, Modders, Thud, et al means we’re finally able to field a team who can threaten from all angles.

Also – I’d like to see a bit more rotation in the squad so the benchies don’t stagnate. Bolton would be an ideal game for that. Pav and Krankie should be given a fair crack allowing Bale and VDV a well earned rest. Gallas and Kaboul have done well but Bassong needs to keep his hand in.
Sandro needs a run too & Bolton is right up his street.

Keane and Jenas can keep collecting bum splinters.

all good comments and I personally think Lennon is close to his best form….but for the limelight Bale is hogging it seems to be going unnoticed
