Guten morgan happy clappen.

The feel good factor continues a pace then. The game was exactly what it ought to have been what with us being at home, on a roll and better at playing football than them all factoring in to a decent win.

In no particular order I was actually sad to see Jenas go off. He has drastically improved of late and this was a game that would have probably suited him in terms of the shape Werder played etc…

Is one of your goats missing? The odds are that 3MP has it. He’s got mine. I’m finding this ‘pop it onto the big fella’s bonce’ routine increasingly irritating. It’s not a strategy, it’s a lottery. Passing to Pete turns possession into a 50/50 ball.

Kaboul is looking damn good. Insightful comment perhaps after 2 goals in 2 games, but while his goals are more than welcome but foremost I need him to do his job at the back well and he has been. Let’s hope his consistency continues…

ZE RATINGS

Gomes Rumoured to have watched the 2nd half in the Bill Nick

Begbie 5.73 He can run, jury still out on everything else

Raging Kaboul 7.1 Great shift

Billy Bob 7.09 Looking every bit like a captain. Blimey

A&E 4 Erratic would give a bad name to erratic things

Azza 6.79Certainly improving, flashes of what he can deliver

Jenarse Gout

Modders 8Took him a good while to bloom

Bale, Bale, Bale 7 Good game, pants penalty

Roman – 5 Forgettable

3MP – 7 Are all his faults in his detractor’s minds. Including me?

Krankie – 6 Great to see him back, looked keen as you like

Defoe – 6 Greedy? Not if he’d scored. He didn’t. Greedy

Arry – Good luck in front of the Beak today

Harry….(sorry if its been mentioned)……does the Sarge not get a rating?

After listening to some of our more cynical supporters say he has lost it etc I decided to pay special attention to his performance when he came on last night.

In a nutshell…..some excellent tackles to regain possession and break up play (exactly what he is good at) and at times looked ponderous and slow with the ball…probably lacking a bit of sharpness and a lot of confidence.

A few games and a bit of time and he will be mustard (again). Great option away from home with modders and VDV in front of him.

Ive been v critical of Gallas on this board for ages, last two games he has been awesome. Nuff said. Pass the humble pie.

    Bring on the last 16

Palacios doesnt play football, he stops the oppo playing football.

  • Jazz15c says:

Wilson was superb, as was Luka.

    Kaboul and Gallas looked solid.

Lennon showed some glimpses, great to see.

Cracking display, never got out of 1st gear, but didn’t need to. Let’s take this form into Sunday’s game and give Liverpool a thorough spanking. 3vs1 Spurs

Have to disagree with the Begbie defenders; basically he was utterly inept. Thre man has no positional sense whatsoever. On top of this he makes Corluka look quick.

    • emspurs says:

not at the running bit. at the stopping the opponent from going by him like he’s stuck in quicksand bit.

He got badly caught out a couple of times last night and needs to be more disciplined defensively but is awesome going forward.

Though I love Charlie as a bloke I am not sure Begbie is any worse than him as a defender and the rest is far better.

Great result and very good discipline under severe provocation, I have one concern that needs ironing out before we entertain the Duracell Bunnies and that is our long passing needs to to stop and the defence and midfield needs to work closer together. When one of our players has got the ball he his left isolated he then has two options risk a long pass or take his markers on or hit a long ball or pass back to two left feet Gomes. To highlight my point Palacios had one of these passes otherwise he was good.We cant afford to give away possession to the Team who use High Tempo when the grim reaper comes knocking or they lose Gerrard or Torres , this is why Woy is bullish they can out run us with our tired legs Harry must use our back up squad wisely the two Skeletons they have show they run around a lot Skyrtl and Konchelsky. They showed against Bolton they can up there Tempo and score late late goals The big creek will play and Top Bunnies four Lungs Kuyt and Blood pressure face Carragher. This would be my Team Gomes— Corluka— Dawson –Bassong Gallas Bentley Kaboul Kranjcar Bale Defoe Crouch—Subs Lennon Sandro Palacios Keane Pav Modric Cudicini
