Spurs & Bremen Both ‘Riddled’ With Gout

Werder Bremen announced today their list of players unfit to play in tonight’s fixture totals 11. In an exclusive interview earlier this morning with Thomas Schaaf the  Bremen coach I was told, ‘Zey are alles die ganze Zeit betrunken H, meine alte mate.’

‘Zer Füße areswollen und nutzlos.’ Tom went on,  ‘Ich bin eine bit kippered.’

This of course is a malaise not unique to those Sausage Side but here too in these once proud, Spectic Isles.

Arry Redschnapps announced that their was a question mark over Gareth Bale after a shoulder of Gordons Gin injury was picked up at the Emptycrates  and admitted Raphael Van Der Vaart is, ‘struggling’ with a half case of vintage Champagne.

The consequences of tonight’s game are straightforward enough. If Werder Bremen lose they exit the competition. If Spurs win then they will have qualified for the next round. Hurrah. The outcome of what other permutations lead to are beyond me.

Here’s some crazy bets to exaggerate that end of the month fiscal pinch when none of ’em come in! There’s a free £20 bet if you drop a tenner in the links, btw.

Pav was supposed to tske the pen but according to HR, ” did not fancy it”. WTF is that all about ?
Bale did not look confident and he missed one for Wales a few months ago.
Most unSpurs like performance tonight, never looked like screwing up.

Not sure why any striker would turn down a penalty. I thought he might fight for his place tonight. Really put the work run his arse off and challenge for every ball. To put his marker down now that Defoe is back. But he looked lazy tonight.

We need rid of the lazy russian.
He doesn’t have the mindset that we need to push on.
One fantastic strike every 5 games then 4 games of lazy pointless runs. And throwing his gloves down when being subbed, was that upset with himself? Or upset with being subbed.
Look at Rooney, castigated, hated by sections of the crowd. at 0 – 0 with 2 mins to go, he takes the ball and smashs it in the net. 2 nil up and cruising and it was too much for poor little Pavly. Pah.

Andy Carroll is exactly the player we need, English, tall, hard, strong, eye for goal. We don’t need another short forward who likes it to feet when we have Bale and Lennon running the show and throwing in crosses.

        BUT THATS WHAT I THINK.

I like Andy Carroll too, but why would we want English players? As the World Cup showed, they’re all bloody useless! Spaniards, that’s what we need, surely!

Gallas looks like he has played himself into fitness and form. Marshalled the defence well, even allowing for the fact the opposition were poor.
    Looks like a good signing.

Penalty should have been retaken for encroachment – the Bremen guy that cleared the ball was almost alongside Bale when he took it.

And we need a couple of full backs who are better than the pair that played tonight. I know there’s a lot of love on this forum for both Assou-Ekotto and Hutton at present, but they both give the ball away far too cheaply for my liking. Better teams than Bremen will punish such profligacy.

When Bale went to tap in the rebound off the keeper and the defender was there before him, one’s considered reaction was indeed ‘WTF did he come from?’ Ref was awful, of course. They all are.

Well done the lads, beat that bunch of sausage munching foulers.Harry boys nimble footwork on the touch line was inspiring too.

  • dutchman says:

What a midfield, when Rafa is back it’s 2nd to none..
Lennon, Bale, Modders and Billie G were class last night!
