Tottenham’s Next Manager

I have a feeling in my water. It might simply be a hazardously full catheter, or it could be a sense that Arry is becoming increasingly teed orf with the Tottinghams faithful. He has every right to be miffed.

Spurs are arguably playing some of their most entertaining and successful football since the Boer war and still the deep groans and booing is only seconds away from being unleashed.2 points from 8 games when he came in, Champions League football and all that.

Arry knows damn well that he is a front runner for Fabio’s job. It’s a role he was made for and one he wants. Here’s my top 5 candidates for step into his still warm loafers…

Timothy Sherwood

Pros – After a conveyor belt of duff strangers it has been mooted that an inside job may produce better results. I have an irrational dislike of Sherwood. He just has a cadish look about him. This might make for a good thing if he were successful as I wouldn’t need to wait for him to make a balls of it before a went for his jugular. Cons – He’s a cad.

Chris ‘Hughts’ Hughton

Pros – The closest thing you can get to Martin Jol with being bear hugged and ending up smelling of John Player Specials. Armed with only a Staples account card and a gang of coke sniffing, bird roasting, street fighting modern day visi goths, he has managed Newcastle with some aplomb. Cons – Another ‘devil you know’.

Jose Mourinho

Pros – Belter of a manager. Linked with every managerial job this side of Tibet. This of course is fueled by the man himself who announces every 3 days that he misses some country or another, is always looking for the ultimate challenge, likes airplane food etc etc etc. Cons – More chance of Slur Alex going teetotal.

Dame Vera Lynn

Pros – This would be the ultimate in appointing a completely English manager. She knows how to slug it out against the Europeans, is permanently cheery and comes complete with bundles of songs for the terraces. Why have Fat Sam when you can have Slim Lynn? Cons – May be die any minute.

Louis Walsh

Pros – His management abilities precede him. This is the man who turned 2 talentless South County Dublin fresh facedyoungsters into millionaires and to the best of my knowledge without selling their orifices to wealthy Arabs. Cons – Come On You Spurs! would stand a good chance of being be changed to Cooee! You Spurs!

Roberto di Matteo is a good shout , another could be Owen Coyle. He has done really well with small clubs, plays an attacking and attractive style and will relish and get a BIG club challenge within the next 2/3 years. I like Chris Hughton a lot, a real football man and a Spur through and through. Also Gus Poyet is one for the future but would he come back? Perhaps Hughton or Poyet as a number 2 alongside Jose Mourinho, you never know. If Jose works his magic at Madrid after 2/3 years he might fancy England again. Either way I do think that Harry will be England Manager after Capello and if I were not a Spurs fan I would be all in favour of him getting it. He would do a good job with England, a lot like Terry Venables he would at least give us back a bit of a swagger. We all agree that England are so dull to watch he could hardly do any worse. Although we have not been getting results of late we can`t say that Spurs play unattractive football and Harry has given us a lot to cheer about since he joined . We just need our best players back and firing, a bit of luck, a win on Saturday to start with and 2 strikers and 1 centre half in asap with the deadwood out.

    Strikers in…. any 2 of L.Suarez, Benzema or Forlan….

Also a centre half who does the job week in and week out….. either Cahill from Bolton or Shawcross from Stoke would be good to partner Daws
with Bassongers and Kaboom as 2nd choices. Sadly Woody and Leds cannot be included, very, very sad but true. Worryingly Upson at Wet Spam will be available on a FREE next summer (please no).

Sorry Harry – I’ll get to the next blog in a while, but first things first. The majority of fans (not me) that were booing the other night were directing their scorn at good old Haward Webb and not at the team. 4 decisions in a row, all within 2 minutes caused this. Those who witnessed the teams troop off the field at the final whistle will know this. Gareth still did his round and applauded the one that were left – don’t think he would have done that if people were booing.

Harry had better watch out if he thinks he knows better than the faithful and starts taking out his frustrations on them. Was it their fault at Old Trafford, at The Reebok, at home to Everton and now Sunderland.

By the way, did you know “We only had 2 points from 4 games you know”!

Sorry about the dodgy Engerlish! Should read things properly first!

Agree that Harry should have been a bit more guarded/savvy with the language he used about us fans, even if he thought badly of us he should have kept it to himself. The booing was mostly directed at Howard Webb who has a lot to answer for with 2 terrible decisions on Tuesday and plenty of history with Spurs. We have had some very poor decisions lately but we got some good fortune with the second goal at Foolem and the off/over the line clearance by Crouchy at Sjoke. Can only hope it turns in our favour again soon.
Next game will undoubtedly be a physical encounter as Blackburn will not roll over and certainly won`t be averse to putting it about. Just hope we have a strong ref !

I’ve always wondered how new managers to clubs go about introducing themselves to the squad.
Do they have one on ones and address the group as a whole? Does levy walk into the dressing room and announce and pledge support for the new manager?
Maybe they just get an email.

Imagine what it was like with ramos. I really wonder what levy was thinking there. The guy couldnt speak a word. Poyet was a glorified interpreter.
