If you look at what van Nistelrooy did for Man Utd, a striker just needs to be able to hold the ball up, get on the end of deliveries and occasionally stick the ball in the back of the net, I’d even take Nistelrooy, see if he can hack it still. Although, I’d probably beg Les Ferdinand to come out of retirement if it was the only alternative to Crouch starting on his own up front against the current premier league leaders.
I like Crouch as a person, but as a footballer I despise him. As soon as I saw he was starting yesterday I did a few lines of cocaine and started beating the wife, just because I knew I’d get no dirty thrills from the game. Side note – I don’t have a wife, and if I did I probably wouldn’t beat her.
