Rumors emerging this morning indicate that desperate Inland Revenue officers determined to restore the public purse mounted an unauthorised and audacious swoop on the Tottingham manager in Madrid just 48 hours ago.

Two unmarked men approached Redknapp outside the Vicente Calderon stadium, fell to their knees and started tugging at his trouser leg to distract him while four others rifled cash and luxurious trinklets from his pockets.

‘I’m walking round the outside of the stadium, it’s a fantastic atmosphere, there’s all little stalls there selling sweets, got some sweets, me and Kevin, and it was so packed. The next thing there’s two guys on their knees in front of me and I felt someone pull my overcoat.’

‘I thought ‘What’s that?’, and didn’t take any notice. The next thing there’s two guys on their knees in front of me and they’ve got my trousers and they keep doing this (tugging) with them, pulling them.

‘I didn’t know whether to knee him in the gob or write him a cheque.’

‘I was shocked. You can imagine. I hadn’t experienced anything like this since me and Sandra had that long weekend in Longleat.’

‘I’m going: ‘Let go of my trousers’, pushing them away. While I’m doing that they’re rifling my pockets, there were about six of them. And then they went.’

‘I went to put my hand in my pockets and realised what they’d done. They took everything. All my money, credit cards, everything really. They didn’t get my passport or me trumpet, so the show will go on!’

When asked what he was doing in Madrid Arry replied,’ We was just on a shop up for sweets. There’s been no contact I …err ..we, well no one has spoken to anyone. But obviously he’s a big talent and he’s told me he wants to come.’

could barely find a working stream for our game, checking the city game, loads of choices first one works perfect

they’re dumping us for the blue arabs

Bent just scored on Shitty so he may help us out without meaning to.

There is a huge difference in the way we approach home and away games even though we play the same players and systems in both.
In the away games, we almost appear to want to tip toe our way through and maybe nick a goal or 2 along the way. We never appear that bothered and there is little drive or ambition.
We just need to grab the opposition by the throat from the off, instead of going through the motions and only waking up when we have conceded.
We have a run of away games approaching and if we don’t sort this out, we can wave bye bye to the CL next season.

Good point. Disproportionate number of away games on the card. This afternoon was as if their goal somehow was instrumental in us ‘sparking’ into life. Depressing if that’s the case.

Seen that happen too many times this season Harry, remember the Bolton away game where we only got interested after they scored a couple ?
Even then, we only played for about 10 minutes.
Would just like us to get hold of the opposition from the start of an away game and impose ourselves on them.
Only time I can recall us doing that this season was the away game at Werder Bremen.

Last I checked though, we play 19 at home and 19 away in the league. Following on from this that means we need to have made the home games count.

With a 6-5-1 league home record to date, you only have to look at the teams above us to see that they’ve done what we haven’t. Scoring more helps. :shocked2:

it’s our mental attitude & conditioning that’s letting us down

I just don’t get this playing away phobia, surely if you’re a class act you’re class act period – in my job shit performance because I’m not on my normal patch wouldn’t be acceptable, just a fucking excuse when they get beat in my mind

the top teams/players have a bloody mindedness about them, they invariably succeed regardless of where or how they are playing.

Totally unrelated, but Kyle Walker is not even in the Villa squad for tonights game and they have a back 4 of centre backs.
I assume he is injured but if not, they may as well send him back and we can play him.
