Even allowing for the translation glitches, this is straightforward enough. Nico wants to play aside from any other reasons to ensure his International spot. He’s happy enough with us but if Modders went that would effect his decision.
Modders’ contract is to 2016 and so any offers will of course have to be hefty. Look, it would have been beyond naive to think nobody was interested and this simply confirms that there is.

As much as I wouldn’t want to see him go, I think we need to adopt the Liverpool/Man Utd school of though ie “no player is bigger than the club”. If he wants to put his own ambitions ahead of the clubs interests than good luck to him, tho maybe he should look how things went when Keane left and how things look to be heading with Berbatov. I must admit I’m impressed by Harry’s clear and concise statement (for the first time in weeks) that Modric and other key players wont be sold.
Just what’s needed – now if only he could be so clear about his own future.
If he was to make a statement like this about himself, it might just help persuade the likes of Modric and Bale (who obviously like him in spite of some fans mmisgivings – mine included) to stick around for another season at least.
The other thing that would help is a clear statement of intent that we are committed to recruit the calibre on players to really compete.
