11 O’Clocker – £22M Bid Dismissed

Good evening fight fans.

Word in from Roger Morgan on Spurs Odyssey is that a bid of £22M has come in and been rejected from ….Chelsea Football Club.  Ol’ Rog has had a few triumphs in the past and I’d be stunned if this isn’t in a major newspaper in the morning.

£22M? Mmmnn. In the shadow of the Torres ‘swoop’ it seems a bit naffin’ short on the jolly. But that was a bid apart. It came from Abramovich. Detach emotion and £22M is probably no more than £10M off the market worth.

‘Do wot H? You slag!!!’

And breathe. You do not get mental money for stellar players like Modders in the Premiership from Premiership sides.  Bids that size of bid only comes in for English ‘punts’ for the future. Didn’t you get the memo?

    Do the math….
Berbatov arrived for £11 mill and left for £31 mill. Multiplier is about 3 fold or minimum extra £20 mill.

So….Modric arrived for £16.5 mill and will leave for at least £36.5 mill and more likely a 3 fold increase at £ 49.5 mill – lets’ call it £50 mill to make it a number.
Considering the performamce of United at Wembley and how close Chelsea never got – it’s a bargain at £ 50 mill.

    This is how it works:

We sell Modric for say £40m.

We then spend £40m on replacements.

    Whats the fucking point!

We have plenty of deadwood that can raise £40m…..Keane, O’Hara, Bentely, Kranjcar, GDS, Hutton, Palacios, bassong could raise £40m between them, and lighten our wage bill to the tune of £15m a year.

Keane, OHara, Bentely, GDS played no part in our season and would not be missed.

Hutton, Palacios, and Bassong could be replaed by Caulker, Walker and Livermore

Kranjcar could be replaced with Parker (£5m)

Leaving us with a trimmed wage bill and £35m. Sell one of the strikers and we are in a position to spend £45-£50m with a zero net spend….without selling Modric.

We don’t need to sell him and we can continue to build without having to sacrifice our top men, which would be a step backwards.

Keep burning the season tickets, chaps!

I’m 2,300 or so on the waiting list.

Levy or ‘Arry have got to release a statement, saying he is not for sale, full stop.
I don’t want to hear them say that 22mill is not enough for a player of Modder’s quality, that just encourages slightly higher bids.
End all the speculation now. He ain’t for sale, so piss off elsewhere.
What sort of signal would selling him send to every other team that has the funding to bully us about, we will be seen as a selling club and Bale will be the next target.

On a side note, how can a team with no manager and no director of football be buying players and even contemplating selling dogba?

Once a feeder club, always a feeder club until there’s management and ownership with the backbone and courage to take the club forward to where it deserves to be.

Bill Nic must be turning in his grave.

Yes, quite, so what does it tell us?
