Modric, Bentley, J**** & Wilson

The morning after the night before.

Modric goes to Zabgreb to have a formal wedding ceremony in a church after an earlier registry office job. The only story to emerge in the Croatian press is that he went out for crab with another couple and had a nice time.

Next, we get ‘exclusive’ interviews with the player presumably via his Boatphone telling us how sweetly we’ll all get along when he’s got Samsung written on his chest.

Levy & Co have been forced to issue a statement this morning. It’s emphatic and more to the point it reveals that Cheatski have been revealed yet again operating in a dubious manner in relation to transfers.

Abramovich is probably too smart to let the trail of tapping up lead to his door, but Modric better get himself a good lawyer to assist him in when he’s back on dry land.  His part time football agent/part time dry cleaner chappy is now out of his depth.

The grim specter of replacing Luka Modric with Scott Parker looms.

So to the others. A chap on Spurs Community Akqayid,  says that Bentley, Wilson and J**** have all gone. To whom, for what he doesn’t reveal. Maybe on a bear hunt, or a goose chase. It’s that time of the year.

On this occasion, I think That Daniel Levy is serious and I believe that Luka will remain with us. As for Parker, sorry, but he does not epitomise progress!

    • Sirled says:

Parker is mediocrity personified!!! even his fifties hairstyle is average!!!

      • Harry Hotspur says:

        ‘He’s a nineteen fifties con-man!’

        • Lodvic says:

Didn’t Vic and Bob sing that song at Mark?

If so, then Mark has taken out a copyright on intellectual property that isn’t his!

In fact I’d go so far as to say the BBC broadcast it and would have retained the copyright unless there was a pre determined copyright agreement with the owners of the material (Vic and Bob).

Mr LeMarr has infringed some very serious laws here, maybe time to call the COPYRIGHT POLICE!!!

In relation to Modric, fuck him! 6 months ago he was saying how he would’ve signed a 10 year contract because he is soooo loyal and loved us SOOOOO much, now he’s in the corner of the WHL changing room wanking over pictures of the new Chelsea Kit.
I said as soon as Chelsea bid, expect him to go for around £40mil near or on deadline day. My only fear is that we will be so busy with this; we will not have time to sign anyone!

  • Harris says:

Agree with jamie, love him at the Lane he contributes a lot of work to the team on and off the ball but for the sort of figures being mentioned £30-£40m surely we can find a replacement with goals and assists in their locker? Despite what Haitch says these rare creatures have to be out there somewhere don’t they??

    • Greaves266 says:

..progress is not achieved by the perpetual cycle of buy n sell!

      We need continuity and stability!!

    • jfdit says:

Try listing replacements & then try and persuade their clubs to sell

      Ozil
      Fabregas
      Xavi
      Marin

…….. can’t think of many more and none of the above are gettable

      • Greaves266 says:

        Absolutely right!

Levy has stated his intentions and you have to admire him for that.

I believe he will stick to his word.

      • DavidHowells says:

Milan Badelj ?? At Dynamo Zagreb value him at £8.5m and he is currently being touted as being even better then Modric… Years younger too.

        • DavidHowells says:

Some may also argue that we already have a replacement in the squad. Niko or Dos Santos? I wouldn’t say that, but some would.’Citing this transfer window malarkey!

      • Harris says:

OPTA stat: Alberto Aquilani has provided more Premier League assists (6) than Luka Modric (5) since August 2009. He is not irreplaceable.

        • jfdit says:

I’d agree modders should provide more in that area of the pitch but he brings more to the party than that – why do you think manure & cheatski want him?

The only way I can describe his best attributes – he makes a football team tick, sets the tempo etc, he’s also brilliant at retaining possession under pressure.

not many players have that ability – past or present

if he’s easily replaceable feel free to name some players who could do the same job as him

        • Harris says:

I don’t necessarily want someone to do the same job, as you say these players are hard to find. If we have to sell hopefully we can find someone who can contribute in other more tangible ways like goals and assists.

  • eastanglianspur says:

Levy has got to stop fucking about and show the likes Modric, Bale and Sandro that he means to take the club forward to the next stage and make THFC THE top performing London club.

This will mean adding more quality players and getting rid of the dross and invalids.

These players will not stay if they are surrounded by fucking plumbers who cannot beat relegation fodder!!

  • Greaves266 says:

New training facilities, searching for stadium solution…and some good times on the pitch this season. These are exciting times for Spurs. We need to keep the momentum going, not begin to dismantle the team.

I now consider the matter closed!!!

    • eastanglianspur says:

That’s the problem, the momentum faded this season or didn’t you notice?

      • dancingbarber says:

Could be and the players were as responsible as anyone else including Modric. He wants to play for championship contenders….well excuse me he was and will be at Spurs….this year he and the others just were not good enough.

  • tokyoyid says:

Modric is gone for sure…its now just a question of when and for how much. As for the other 3 you mention, it would be good if we really have sold them but not so good if they are only off on loan. The money we will lose on selling our “fringe” players this year will need to be recouped somehow. Thats why I think, in the end, Modric will be sold for a price in the GBP40-50mm range.

    • ianmrl says:

      “40-50mm” is than Modric’s height?

    • Roasted Peanuts says:

there is no chance of him going. He will get back to the UK, have crunch talks with Levy, sulk a little, sign a new improved contract and tell the spurs fans he never wanted to leave in the first place.

Levy has made mistakes in the past but there is no going back on his statement.
