Good Morning,

From left field or certainly les transferts.com at least comes the news that Tottingham Hotspurs have made enquiries for Mounir El Hamdaoui. Hang on H, isn’t that…?

Yep. The man that never was.

A funny old game indeed Saint. Mo’ signed for Spurs under the auspices of BMJ in 2005. But never played a Premier League game. I confess I had to look him up. He featured in the Peace Cup. He apparently scored in friendlies against Northampton Town and Aldershot Town and not lonf after was loaned out to Derby County for his sins.

Leaving Spurs like many before him was the best thing to happen him. A season with Eridivisie’s Willem II and then his current home Ajax have generated 63 goals in 106 appearances.

Now you know I’m not Statty, but even I found it interesting to look at what all these goals amounted to. Well he was top scorer in the Eridivisie in 2008-2009 and the man to beat him to that spot the following season was a bloke called Luis Suarez.

At first glance a rumour perhaps to induce groans, but I’ve been emotionally scarred by those Leandro clips and would happily give Mo’ a second look based on his Dutch form.

Special thanks to highly esteemed reader, RalphCoatesHair for sending in this little gem. A thing of beauty. Ralph wants to know what the trophy in the foreground is. First correct answer wins a lock of Terry Venables’ hair (still attached to his head).

Are there no You Tube clips of him against Scotland played over here last season, he scored in that didn’t he?

    • Jay says:

No he never but he was quality, big strong, a younger version of the Inter Milan striker Adriano in his plomp.

Listen we ran down Sandro from his dull clips and he is one of our best players now, best defensive midfielder I have seen at Spurs for 20 years anyway.

If he is good enough for Brazil ahead of Pato, Nilmar, Adriano, Fabiano and Vagner Love then he is good enough for us.

We have no use Crouch, lil boy Defoe and Lazy Pav

You can’t really judge someone by a YouTube clip surely? I doubt there were hundreds of videos showing Sandro’s quality before we signed him

You should see my Youtube clip. I’m fecking brilliant.

Actually Aaron there were and I viewed most as it was a done deal by then (just had to wait for him to complete the Cup competition out there…) and very impressive he was too, so my juices were already flowing and he hasn’t let me down.

However you are right it can be a dangerous game to judge as it’s difficult to know the context of each game etc etc…

Not that I’m slightly religious or anything but this transfer window for us has been like waiting for the right colour smoke to come out of the Vatican chimney, so much rests on the strokes we make next it’s not funny anymore, the waiting is killing me…

Yeah I remember watching some videos, but none genuinely displayed his talent for breaking up play and tough-tackling, mainly the videos I saw showed goals that he’d scored, which, though he scored a beaut for us, isn’t what makes him awesome.

        • MysteriousStranger says:

Were you watching the wrong player, or did someone really post a video of him scoring all of his half a dozen goals at a professional level?

          I mean, seriously? WTF? Really?

        • Aaron says:

Lol, maybe I’m just remembering wrong mate, just reckon we can’t judge on a video because I could edit a video to make Jenas look like a superstar.

      • Harry Hotspur says:

        You are unrelentingly pompous.

What fecking clips of this cad have you seen where he doesn’t look like a fecking armchair?

        • Aaron says:

Lol me pompous?? I’m not trying to be, I guess I’m just hoping, seeing as we’re almost certain to sign Damiao, that he’ll turn out to be decent, wishful thinking maybe but never intended to be pompous

  • AntiOna says:

Well if you must recycle explayers, what about Pekhart as well?…with them defoe & Crouch they could start an exTHFC player club right now
