Perhaps if we looked upon King as what he is – an occasional treat – and gave up the fantasy that Woodgate was somehow still in the squad we might build and become more stable.

In my book Gomes was a hero last season and has improved every season hes been at the club. He will get better and better.
I agree also Harry with the defensive player issues we have had, I absoultley knew we were buying a donkey from Middlesbrough, not that Woody was a bad defender, although his stint at Real dident really impress either, no it was because everybody in the WORLD knew he was crocked..what a bad bad decision that was!!!
King, not enough words can describe this man. His last couple of games were like he hasent been out or injured its amazing, truly amazing. The only defender that I could honestly say is close to him and that is Vidic at Manu.
His calmness, sharpness, speed, pass selection and head ability..puts him for me in the top 10 in the world…what a crying shame he made not be able to show us his true genuis. A fucking legend!
If we score more presumably we will have more possession and the ball in their half more often and in their net and not vice-versa which is what happened this season

Friedel is 1.32, and Cudicini(amazingly)is 0.9, but he amassed that at Chelsea. We sold Robinson after a crisis of confidence and he came good. Maybe Gareth Sprake is available?
