Good morning.

This is interesting to put it mildly. It was mooted a while back that contact had been made with Mark Hughes. Presumably to step into the breech should our current incumbent find himself unable to get into work one day. Perhaps a freak snow storm will block his car in. We have all been taking this global warming pretty light heartedly…

Well it’s been suggested to me this morning that this is only Plan B.

Plan A is that we are indeed talking to Real Madrid. But not just about players. The defiant, near angry response to the Modric offer, plus the intensive pursuit of the NDP reflects that the Club is only just beginning to shift through the gears.

Jokey quotes about 2 points from 8 games to one side, a child could tell you that Spurs had a phenomenal season marred only by the abysmal form of the strikers. If ‘ifs and ands were pots and pans there’d be no need for tinkers,’ but had Spurs not missed so many comparative sitters we could have finished as high as 3rd. My point being that for all our moaning, we’d look like a pretty sweet prospect to many.

The Special One to White Hart Lane?

Yes please.

Jose’s success is seemingly in proportion to the size of the chequebook he’s allowed to have.
Well that’s him down the pan at the Lane then.

Mourinho spent almost nothing at Porto and won the European cup, so I think you are being harsh on his abilities.

That said, I cant stand the cunt.

Wait till Mus hears about this.

    I can feel a fackinel coming on…..

If Real Madrid were unhappy with him they’d have gotten rid by now. If they’re not unhappy why would he consider coming to us? He doesn’t exactly strike me as the kinda bloke that would like to leave a failure.

This is what I heard yesterday come from horse racing circles!

And what odds on HR gone before the end of the season? Apparently he had accepted charge of VAT evasion as a compromise but now withdrawn offer from crown prosecution as new evidence come to light.

BTW as of yesterday on Skybet next Spurs manager Hughes at 7/2 Fav. And first premmanager to go HR at 12/1 behind Fav Keane!

VAT evasion? How much sauce had your source consumed? Redknapp has been charged with evading income tax and national insurance contributions. There are no charges relating to VAT. Unless he has been running a sweet shop on the side.

ALl this hysteria aside, people should study the facts of the charges against Redknapp. He is accused of evading tax payments of between £10k-£40k. Thats roughly 1%-4% of the total tax he pays in a typical year. While this is a common law offence, and thereby not subject to statutory punishments (ie the judge could essentially impose any penalty he considers reasonable), the reality is, given the small % of his overall tax liabilities, this will not attract a custodial sentence. At worst it will be a suspended one, but even that is unlikely. He will have to pay taxes owed of course, plus a penalty of at least 100% of the tax owed. Essentially chicken feed for a man of his wealth. The only thing that chabges this is if the investigation against him uncovers more serious offences. However, in my view all this really does is make Redknapp even LESS likely to leave Spurs. He wont be offered the England job for some time if found guilty (the FA had their fingers burned by the Venables debacle)

Waste your money backing Redknapp to be first man sacked if you like, but dont do so based on his legal issues. For me its pretty obvious who the first PL manager to be fired will be (Warnock), and the first high profile one (Dalgleish). I’d also take CVB to be fired ahead of Redknapp

Maybe Arry’s worry’s are not strictly related to pounds shillings and pence.

      • Billysboots says:

I don’t actually bet on Spurs related issues! Merely looking at the Market normally a quite good indicator. As for the charges let’s wait and see, I thought he was up before the beak with Storrie and Manderic, on the 18th maybe an out of court settlement was being brokered, btw the source does like his sauce but I know he dont normally come up with rubbish, he passed this on to his Spurs boys who work in his city financial house! Personally I hope it don’t come down to bird, after all said and done the 2 points from 8 qoute allows him sone status with me!

NO judge in the land will support this witch hunt. He’s offered many times to pay what they are seeking and everything else is just the ego of her maj because they want a public lynching.

I shouldn’t drink on tuedays. Makes me get involved.
