Good morning.

This is interesting to put it mildly. It was mooted a while back that contact had been made with Mark Hughes. Presumably to step into the breech should our current incumbent find himself unable to get into work one day. Perhaps a freak snow storm will block his car in. We have all been taking this global warming pretty light heartedly…

Well it’s been suggested to me this morning that this is only Plan B.

Plan A is that we are indeed talking to Real Madrid. But not just about players. The defiant, near angry response to the Modric offer, plus the intensive pursuit of the NDP reflects that the Club is only just beginning to shift through the gears.

Jokey quotes about 2 points from 8 games to one side, a child could tell you that Spurs had a phenomenal season marred only by the abysmal form of the strikers. If ‘ifs and ands were pots and pans there’d be no need for tinkers,’ but had Spurs not missed so many comparative sitters we could have finished as high as 3rd. My point being that for all our moaning, we’d look like a pretty sweet prospect to many.

The Special One to White Hart Lane?

Yes please.

What is this obsession with ex MU ferguson wannabes? Hughes/Keane/Bruce all trying to be managers and failing. Surely we have a championship version of Boas but who is unsung as unlike in Portugal where most championship sides would do well, there is no CL or Europa place to advertise his ability.

Nice weather outside right now :)

60 000 seater stadium and Jose in the dugout would do nicely. But at the moment as likely as the bar staff actually being prepared at half time at WHL.

    Warm Carlsberg anyone?

I wouldn’t rule out the special one entirely – Barca are going to dominate the Spanish League and Europe for years so he’s on a hiding to nothing really (albeit on a huge salary). I think he’d love to get one over on the Chavs, but agree that the Manure job is his ultimate goal.

Personally I can’t see Harry chewing brick, so it’s a non event at the minute but could be a possibility when ‘Arry takes the England job.

I’m not personally a ‘Arry ‘Ater, I think he’s done a great job so far, but would like to see him being a bit less vocal in the media and a bit more vocal on the touchline. We’re only 3 world class players away from having a great side. A striker, a centre half and a right back that can defend!

Apart from Jol, we’ve endured pure dross in recent years so let’s not be too keen to replace the manager. I’m personally not sure about Hughes or his brand of football, have you forgotten his side at Blackburn?
