Modders Depressed – Ah, Diddums.

Good morning. Is this the calm after the storm or before it? I do like a good shipping forecast.

Reading between the lines from Arry  the  cosy chat betwixt the Croat and the Chairman rather left old Modders in a state of shock. Deflated and emotionally done in.

All I can say to that is, ‘ Ah diddums.’

He appears to have genuinely thought that this is how you do things over here. To a certain degree he was right, of course. But to attempt what he was attempting with a shade under 5 years on his contract was …well, ambitious.

Just like little Luka, I don’t understand quite how footballer’s contracts work. But I’d imagine that signing one and then saying you’ve changed your mind a few months down the line is akin to buying say a house for cash – and then tracking down the vendor 6 months later – and saying you don’t want it any more. Gone off it.

I would imagine Cheatski’s offer to triple his wages would have come as small comfort to him if he was liable to recompense Levy & Co for the remainder of the term. Ball park 233 weeks @£60k pwk = £13,980000. Ouch.

Elsewhere we have a quote from Citizen Redschnapps in relation to our old mucker PSB. Apparently he’s very much still in the mix at The Lane. Lucky us. Translated that’s nobody will accept a fiver to take him away. I’ve been accused of being conveniently forgetful about the good works that Blistering Bob did for us. And it’s true. I don’t dent it.

But the last straw for me was when he was at Celtic and was asked what his next move was and with a completely straight face he replied, ‘Oi have a contract wid Tottingham.’ With this streak of shamelessness perhaps he could get a job in Starbucks. Their always looking for people who can ask £6 for a coffee and a muffin without corpsing.

Elsewhere the ITK’s have run aground. Their finely honed attention seeking radars know we need succour for the weekend and so they can’t simply say nothing. So Leandro’s name has been regurgitated once more.

On that note, I know it’s July but don’t forget a coat this weekend, you may well need it. Oh yes, the video below is good if you like Cleese.

Signing 2 or 3 quality players and sending out a statement of intent should cure everyones depression.

You think David Moyes would be commentating like a pundit about wheither we’ll finish 5th 1st 3rd 7th no.Mark hughes wouldn’t ,Carlo angelotti wouldn’t.They wouldn’t stand their infront of the camera rabbitin on like their in their local cafe, with the Sun paper and fry up .It was endearing first but he’s gotta change his tactics, right now,a few of a these players can easily be unsettled and we need a man in charge who inspires a faith and who looks loyal himself .

I agree entirely that Redknapp is not best serving us at the moment. He should concentrate on what he s paid for and start asking himself serious questions like why didnt i play Krancjar more last season.

  • SHUT UP REDKNAPP says:

Astromesmo…….why haven’t we heard from any of the other managers then……Fergie, not a peep from him, Mancini, not a peep since he first spoke about Tevez, AVB….. did his press conference, not a peep since then, Kenny, not a peep from him, even Wenger hasn’t said anything……yet our media hungry whore just can’t help himself!

Let’s hope her majesty’s finest do us a great favour and find him guilty….then get in someone who’s going to concentrate on the players, tactics and not the next comment he can give when a mic is shoved in his face again!!!

What I wad thinking, as far as I can tell none of the other managers seem to want to provide a running commentary on what’s going on at their club.

Somehow I can’t see Harry being much cop at poker: “Ooh, that’s a good card, no, that’s crap that one, two pair, that’s as good as it gets etc. etc.”

Is it that it’s not there, or that you’re not looking for it? How often do you Newsnow search Arsenal, or Man City? Click on links about interviews they give? Read blogs about Arsenal & Chelsea? I think you’ll find that they’re as equally in the news if you’re a fan of those clubs.

Moyes, who wants to know about what he says? That’s probably the only reason no-one speaks to him & Fergie doesn’t need to speak to the press as he gets the press to do his work for him.

My problem is, is that people who hate Redknapp… And there are lots that would regardless if he won the league, CL and god-knows what, use anything & everything to justify their arguments. They talk of Redknapp ‘Unsettling’ the club… well, what effect do you think having interviewers saying ‘Lots of your fans want you sacked’ has… Do you think it makes them feel all warm & loved inside?

Fans of other clubs look on us in disbelief. We are in the kind of position they’d give their right arm for and we want our manager sacked or want to take every opportunity to c**t him off.

I know I’m the only one, but I find it staggering.

Be consoled Astro, you are not the only one. There’s at least two of us.

I don’t hate Harry at all, I appreciate what he’s done and I want him to stay.I just don’t see the point of telling the media that Modric is “confused” and implying he still wants to leave. I don’t see how it helps and I’d like him to keep quiet.

We all have opinions Astro, but according to Harry we are idiots for having them, and as spurs fans on this blog expressing our opinions we are the biggest idiots of all.I’m sorry but i just can’t take to the geezer.I found some of his team selections baffling to say the least and his handling of some of the players 2nd rate.Surely he should have formed a strategy on how to break down a team with a ten man defence by now. With the squad we have he should be performing a lot better

the way i see it is chelsea is playing games with modders…they are just playing mind games with him..if they realy wanted him they would have opened the bidding for at least $30 mill and quickly upped their offer to $40 mill after levy told them he didnt want to sell modders..final offer $43 mill plus player(?) and if modders cant see that that is what he is realy worth then he needs to realize chelsea dont realy rate or want to build a team around him..and lastly for pure footballing reasons he is better to be at spurs with a team built around him and the chance that a bigger club than chelsea ie barca or real might come in for him than at chelsea where he will quite easily become a bench player….coys and coymodders
