“If he was playing for Arsenal last season, they’d probably have won the title.”

Good morning my dears,

And we’ll kick off today with a quote from Willie McKay. Willie is Joey Barton’s agent of course. A little known fact about Willie is that he has a goldfish swimming in cerebral fluid in the gap where his frontal lobe used to be.

I think Barton would  be a useful addition dependent only upon wage demands and our ability to move along the usual suspects.

Barton is undoubtedly bullish and a player with a focus if not the the most gifted bloke to ever kick a ball. So a good suitable character to throw into the mix with Sandro and Sarge.

Palacios is possibly off, but if he isn’t then the idea of someone to replace him when he picks up those inevitable yellows and has the ref watching him like a hawk is a good one.

Discipline wise he ‘s a checkered past but who amongst us aside from the terminally dull has not? The clucking about his possible negative contribution to the dressing room has begun already. I disagree. The fewer people we have wearing headphones listening to def bleeps and soulful vibes the better. I like my footballers to have pre-match rituals like  ‘putting their boots on and glaring. Not discussing where’s good to spend £600 on a baseball cap.

That said, I say he’ll hook up with all his pals at West Ham.

The wanky reality is that if we dont get back into champions league football next season, we cant expect to keep bale, rvdv, or mr no like chicken badge c**t, its a bloody nice thought that we could bring through decent young players but we dont.. we fuck them right up just like dos santos who will by the way be a star next couple of seasons or that french twat we flogged to QPR for £2.50! A proven striker and solid defender please..

Per good ol Wikipedia, we have 31 first team players, with Rose and Walker still counting as under 21. So four have to go just get to 25. More have to go to buy anyone in. And not much time to do this.

Fackinel :blink:only 10 more days to kick off :shocked2:  :dizzy:

Alnwick and Livermore will surely get loan moves, but we have to shift two more deadwoods to get level. And another for any player brought in.

        Fackinel, indeed.

On the plus side, maybe this moves Levy to lower some prices and the Keanes and Bentleys to consider a pay cut. Being told “you ain’t in the team, son” could have that effect.

I believe part of the problem is that players like Kean and Jenas would rather not play than take a drop in wages but that should not stop us buying at least one decent striker.

The other part of all this is that Del boy Levy loves a last minute deal and plays hard ball at the best of times, so expect nothing until at least August 30 and you won’t be disappointed.

Sure, let’s not stand still. I’d be happy with Llorente, promote Kane and shift Keane and Crouch

        • seattlespursguy says:

Move Alnwick, Livermore, Keane and Bentley to get to 25. Gio can be shifted to Spain which gives us room for the striker. Shift Jenas just because. Sorted.

    Finn (see above),

You probably won’t see this, but the proportions I was thinking of were 75% at the feet of our strikers, 25% at the head of ‘Arry, that 25% being split between team selection and tactics.

In the end, it’s up to the players. Yup.
