Incredible Signing This Weekend

Good morning,

A few lines into this and many but I hope not all will ‘switch’ off and indeed log off.

What I have for you is an opportunity to make an incredible signing – for yourself – and for others. Are you simply a one dimensional drone, or do you have a little more about you?

I’d like you to sign the petition for the full government disclosure and publication of all documents, discussions and reports relating to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. HERE

The reason is quite straightforward it is an opportunity for the truth to be revealed and hopefully for not just football, but real people and that includes you, to benefit.

You may not like Scousers. You may have a ‘so what?’ attitude towards the whole Hillsborough incident, but you are a football fan and you are in a position to remind the government of the day that football fans are not some sub species who can be treated like fools. Just on the whole club thing, you do know that a Tottenham fan died that day? Andrew Sefton was his name. Mabsy went to his funeral.

Online petitions as a generally hopeless affairs. But this one currently has over 65,000 signatures. It takes less than 30 seconds to add your signature. Why should we wait for the full 30 years?  Go on. Sign.

HERE

Thank you.

I took a Scouse mate of mine to watch Spurs v the bin-dippers a few years back (Fowler scored first and we won 2-1, I think). Anyway we’re in the South Stand and the usual banter is going on between the Park Lane and the away fans, when this geezer standing next to us suddenly points over to the away fans and shouts “Rememba Hillsbra you fackin cants!”. Nice. Spurs fans (of which I am one) never cease to disappoint me.

I have been thinking, when Emmanuel signs we are going to have give him a new song, so, here’s a starter for ten: “Adebayor…Adebayor..His first touch is excellent – and his second’s not poor” (unlike my lyrics).

What, you think you can do better?

    • Mr_Spiggott says:

      .

      YES I do…….

“Adebayor….Adebayor…..we’re his boyhood heroes…..so he’d better score” :shifty:

adebayor, adebayor, your fathers a gentleman, and we’ed love you to score.
      or
adebayor, adebayor his fathers a zooligist, and his mum practcies law!
i seem to be in the minority wanting him to sign, as much as arry’s not my ideal manager, i feel he will get the best from ade.

    Best I’ve seen is

I urge everyone to sign this.

I was at Hillsborough for the F A Cup semi final vs Wolves in 1981. We had the Leppings Lane end for that game & I can remember the serious overcrowding in there on that day. Thankfully, despite a he’ll of a lot of discomfort, nothing serious occurred.

I remember seeing lots of empty space in the top corner of the Kop end where Wolves were & wondering why they had the bigger end.

There but for the grace of God.

I agree Fatfish. I was also there that day and in the underground tunnel, that led to the stand behind the goal was absolutely terrifying. My feet did not touch the floor for most of it and I like others was being crushed, finding it extremely hard to breath – and at 6ft+ and 15 stone it tells you how bad it was.

It was disgusting that nothing was done after that semi, and there were loads of complaints, because it led to the deaths of so many later on.

I have already signed the petition and fellow yids, please do the same as this could have easily been us that it happened too.

Click elsewhere if you feel that strongly about it. I’m sure you’ll be terribly missed though.

Given the subject matter of today’s post I would have thought even a simpleton like yourself would find a better day to leave such a comment.

      • SteveSpur says:

        Astro,
You obviously haven’t read Barton’s tweets. It’s simple-ton. But Shitehawk is one, whichever way you slice it.
Shitehawk, if you can’t make a worthwhile contribution, and you don’t appreciate this blog, don’t let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.I’d hate for you to suffer brain damage.

I have agree – I’m here every day and yet you feel the need to have a pop about nothing other than my existence on this blog – this speaks volumes about you.

    • Basil says:

      Shitehawk- apt name!

      • calebray says:

given the sensitive subject matter that is valid to all human beings and football fans, a little decorum and self awareness may be in order.

Coming from nottinghamshire i actually lost two school friends that day.

Please explain your problem with this blog and post to me, i am not being sarcastic i would genuinely love to know.

Recently there have been two non-Spurs threads on here – this and the riots. To me, they are both important issues and I applaud HH for having raised them.

For my money, this is one of only three consistently good blogs around, and whether I agree with the subject or not, it is always well-written. That is in spite of the fact that he mis-identified Norman Stanley Fletcher.

Over the past few months, I have used the “hide” button on Newsnow to avoid those blogs that are a waste of space and time. I used to make posts of what I thought was constructive criticism if I thought that the blog might have potential, but it changed nothing. I never wrote anything that was purely designed to offend. I cannot say that that everyone should respond in the same style as I do, but if I was Shitehawk, I think I would know that there are easier ways to make your point, than making a fool of myself, slagging someone off who is trying to recruit support for an important and worthwhile cause.
